Their nicknames are faux news and fox propaganda network. Prior court cases have determined they don’t have to provide facts as they are not a news channel but a commentary channel. It’s bs and the type of past rulings that compounded on itself to where we are today. Straight hate and propaganda sent to the dumbest people that think it is truth. Watch a few segments a Fox News. I have, and it’s utterly fascinating how they take a generalized concept that most independence and sane people would take and then slowly shifted by the end of the segment of spewing pure hate.
As a citizen of a small Western country allied with the USA, I have been alarmed at polls indicating that Trump is leading. If he were to be elected president the effect upon the entire world would be catastrophic. I find Rachel's words comforting in the extreme. We've already seen Trump win an Election, in 2016, when he lost the Popular Vote by about 3m and mathematically he could potentially lose the Popular Vote in November by 4-5m and still have a "fighter's chance" to win the Electoral College and the Presidency. Everybody must vote!
Can we just call out the fact that more educated voters aren’t likely to respond to those stupid phone text polls because we all know it’s not safe to click random links from strangers? That has to have an effect on polling numbers.
Do yourself a favor, watch more than CNN, MSNBC, try Fox or Newsmax, get both side opinions. Youll see for yourself the spin on narrative. Youll see democrats on Fox, but republicans are never welcomed on Cnn, msnbc or nbc, abc, cbs! Should tell you something,

With all due respect, you just gave a big boost to Biden-As-Senile-Theater Did you see the post meeting press conferences in which Biden described the complex relationship between Japan and the U.S. Biden was spectacular, both in his prepared statement and in Q&A. Why not show a few minutes of Biden describing past, current, and future Far East issues? Why do shows like this promote ageism, and enhance the false notion that the real race is whether Biden or DT will land on senility first. PS WMV : White Male Victims. @JG-MVI hope that most Dems in NY don't feel that way. We can't be complacent and let Trump win. This is more than just about Joe Biden's handling of the war. If Trump gets in, it's worse for everyone, here and abroad.
None of us are complacent!! And are aware of the stakes!! But it’s way too early to panic and Trump will always need an additional 10 million votes which is not ever going to happen!

I was polled by phone a week ago for the first time ever as a registered voter. The questions started out my age, occupation, do I vote, how often I vote, will I be voting, then asking about Biden vs. Trump. I basically told the pollster I would not vote for Trump under any circumstances. Then some questions about inflation and the economy, the border, Russia/Ukraine, Israel/Palestine, but oddly nothing at all about Trump's election denial, lawsuits, Jan. 6th, etc. as if they were not even relevent issues. Then he went on to questions about whether I will likely be voting for Sherrod Brown (I'm in Ohio) and I said yes. There seemed to be a lot of framing around how various dumb right-wing talking points would affect my decision on whether I would vote for him, such as if he were to vote to pass laws in support of abortion "up until birth", and transgenders in women's sports, then would I reconsider? It all seemed really right-wing culture war biased as if to insinuate that those are the more relevent issues to be concerned with. No mention at all about healthcare, prescription drugs, social security, student loan debt or any of that.
This is why my conservative Christian non-political parents get so confused and frustrated when I try to explain all of the propaganda talking points that they believe, and they cant understand why I bring up totally different topics during a discussion about one topic, nor do they understand why they matter as a whole. It's so exasperating. Because they aren't inherently stupid, just uninformed, misinformed, and stuck in the old ways of Southern Baptist that they were born and raised in. They are slowly trying to understand my progressive perspectives though, especially when I explain that Jesus was a progressive and would have agreed with all of my humanitarian, empathetic, and scientific ways of thinking. There are ways to get people to listen, if y'all take time and patience to reach out to people who don't understand things. Plant the seed of knowledge in others, and hope it grows!!! 💜💙💚
Maybe introduce them to Tennessee Brandos videos... he has a way of explaining things in his Tennessee accent that just might register with them. Just a thought!
Your way of reaching out to your family is the only way.....patience and understanding. I am still going through that, too....at least we can have normal conversations. Unfortunately, that is not working with many onetime friends, which I have lost, but life is too short to exhaust ourselves ad infinitum trying to reach them and free them from radical Evangelicalism.
😂 easy answer tell your parents that the Republicans will take away their social security and Medicare and show them multiple clips on RU-vid where Republicans have said exactly that even if the parents are racist or overly Christian or anti-abortion the one thing they do worry about is losing their social security

That has weakened both our countries significantly.*
I am a history major with a political science minor. In particular, I would be interested in knowing. Exactly when were history and civics considered important in our education system? Let me give you some help. I am 62. I went to high school in the 1970s. Civics wasn't taught in school then. Civics would have to have been considered important before the 1970s.
71 year old here....Civics required all through school. American History every year. English every quarter. I graduated HS in 1971 and was a pretty well educated citizen and well prepared for college. I can spell too!
@@peggynulsen1365I’m of the same era but Canadian. Starting from 7th grade through to 12th whether it was actual civics or a unit in social studies our political systems were studied. It was helpful
@@peggynulsen1365 I was a freshman in 1976 and graduated in 1980. Civics was not taught in my high school. When I was in the first grade we had duck and cover drills. @@MarkDalbey-cv9sb hi Mark. I went to 5th grade (1963) in Richland, Wash. Located a few miles from the Hanford Atomic Works, we had regular drills as you described. Being a rather precocious, science oriented student, I was pretty sure this would not work in the event of a nuclear accident or attack, but hey, I was 10. The school system there was very progressive and I loved it, but my Mom hated the desert so we only stayed one year. I am not sure exactly when or why the educational system in the U.S. lost its way, but I know I am grateful for the excellence of my own public school experience. I consider myself a life long learner and my early education gave me the tools to pursue almost any area of interest and come away with a good base of knowledge. To say this has enhanced my life immeasurably is an understatement. But to get back to the whole point of this thread.....learning and understanding are foundational tasks in human brains, without this we cannot properly or accurately assess or comprehend anything, including current political or world events. GOOD EDUCATION IS ESSENTIAL TO AN INFORMED CITIZENRY. Our founders knew this long ago and we need to get back to excellence in public schools.
since 2012 all national polls have been nuttier than a squirrel turd. remember that "red wave in '22" that was supposed to give the GOP a +40 member margin over the Dem's? I do...
Polls say that Trump will win the 18-35 age group by four points. That 11% of voters are undecided between Biden and Trump. Biden and Trump, really? That the border is the number two voting issue and that women's reproductive rights or democracy are not in the top ten. Does this pass the smell test to you? Sometimes when things don't appear to make sense, that is because they don't. A poll involves somebody talking politics for a full half hour with a complete stranger on the phone. Do you really believe that more moderate people are going to take time out of their day to do that? The biggest voting block in this country is severely underrepresented in the polls. The silent majority. Until they are, polls aren't worth the paper they are written on.

They're not astrology, they actually deal with reality at least lol. The coverage of polls is made up, they're just vehicles to make money. The pollster makes money, the media sells their ads on it, and the viewers get something to talk about. Who is Marilyn Lands? It is a pretty safe prediction that someone people don't know who is will lose by a lot more than 11 points. There is low name recognition and then there is no name recognition. Neither probably will not win, but the person with no name recognition will lose by a lot more.
This is why a vote for trump or biden is just 4 more years of the same shit. I knew a pollster who quit because he realized how inaccurate polls were, he figured he was just wasting his life. The only poll that matters is the official vote.
Especially now in the modern era. The people who are polled are those that still have land lines. Most people I know under the age of 40 (Including several financially well off individuals and their families) don't even have land lines. The people who have land lines tend to be the elderly, and they historically have tended to vote one way over the other.

This undemocratic Electoral College should be abandoned, particularly when Electoral Districts are jerrymandered with ease, and appeal processes are so obviously mishandled by the USSC.
You are right we have communication , and travel abilities , never dreamt of , when the Constitution was written, and there had to be accommodations made for the lack of travel and communication difficulties , that took TIME .
I don’t think the electoral college should be totally abandoned, but it definitely needs a massive overhaul. I fear that if it were to go away, a lot of fly over states would not want to be part of the United States anymore. We’ve already been down that path. And the gerrymandering needs to be fixed asap.
Why can't the USA have a first past the post system.? A simple majority. Why this weird and unfair electoral college which pretty much says some states are more important than others?
I agree but Gerrymandering doesn't have much to do with the Electoral College, they're separate issues. Most states determine who their votes go to by winning a plurality of votes for the whole state. Though the number of votes for each state is determined by the number of congressional districts + 2 for senators, the gerrymandered districts don't change the electoral college vote.
That is the issue. There is no good reason to vote red or blue both candidates suck and there are not enough registered Democrats to carry the General elections

Same here. Third parties always want to get on the presidential ballot when they have no chance in hell of winning, and a very good chance of siphoning off votes. Not to mention, do they not understand that they will not have any type of congressional help, since Democrats and Republicans will have all the seats? If third parties, like No Labels, really wanted to make an impact, sponsor some candidates for lower-tier races in state elections, where a lot of Republicans run unopposed. Build out that way to show that they can be legitimate party.
But I'm not convinced that it is a matter of most people yet to tune in. There is a deep problem, if not sickness, in our society because half of it cannot see Trump for who he is. That would be OK for a new-to-democracy society but not the one who "disposed" of kings in 1776.

I understand the Bernie buzz. However Bernie voted against a number of good bills that have become policy, all because he didn't believe they went far enough at the time. His words, not mine. I'm a 73-yr. old staunch progressive also, but I understand that things don't always progress immediately with the masses like Bernie and others may want. We often must move incrementally, step by step, instead of throwing everything out if it doesn't go Bernie's way. Look how much Biden has moved to the left compared to even Obama. He knows how to read the country.

Something I just read about voting in Ohio. Biden can POSSIBLEY be left OFF their ballot because of their deadline for candidates to be listed or certified and when the Democrats have their convention. Biden won't be their OFFICIAL candidate unit after Ohio's final date.
