Forgotten Instruments, Spinet Organs. They were in a lot of homes in the 60s-90s. Now they lay silent on the sides of roads, in dumpsters, as firewood, and in my studio. This is a little story about my weird Yamaha Electone 415.

Enjoy it! When I was 18, my dad paid $4400 to get me a Yamaha Electone B805. I played it each day for 10 years, then gave it to a church. After hearing what you are doing with its sounds plus effects, and seeing those colorful buttons, I wish I had kept it. After the Yamaha I purchased and sold at least 30 or 40 other synths ... but the Yamaha Electone was my only 10-year main and one keybord.

Started when i was six on a pumping organ/ harmonium . Those were affordable so we started with psalms later growing to bach and händel . Then around ‘70 my parent were convinced of the seriousness bought a simple solina ( later eminent) organ which costed the then amazing amount of 1500 (the price of very good sh car at least) . No rythmbox inside , just 2 manuals and a basspedal , a few sound to chose and combine and a very nice vibrato and springreverb. Having more interest in sound than copying excisting music i from there on moved towards my first synth ( a korg ms20 ), payed by my first job on 18

Please stop apologizing, Jeremy. Also, this is fantastic. I almost got a free organ like this year's ago, but it wouldn't fit in my car. I regret it every single day.

This is incredible. This is the content we need. Keep these coming. You should do a deep dive on some of the sentimental gear you have and how you use them in projects.

I am so happy that RU-vid's algorithm has learned that i really enjoy thoughtful, nostalgiac pieces that are ostensibly about old tech but are actually about the human experience. It also seems to know rhat i appreciate underrated channels, and as i waste away from a mysterious illness, i feel like part of a small special club to be able to share in the enjoyment of these heartfelt expressions of creativity and gorgeous sounds

I started my musical journey on a Lowery organ at age 10. It had two manuals and one octave pedalboard. Stops were strings, flutes, trumpets, but nothing sounded like the instruments and when mixed together sounded like a synth with a bad audio output stage. Basically mush. Hammonds made a sound that made me cringe. And after 10 years moved on to piano and acoustic guitar, then 10 years added synths. Piano became my main instrument and was hired to play my compositions as a solo pianist. The synth became my experimental side, and the synth action a break from the physicality of practice on piano. But like all vintage electronic gear it can't be trusted and expensive or impossible to repair. I am not nostalgic, I desire sound designs that have never been heard before but sound acoustic and musical. So any synth with those possibilities end up in the studio.

Hey! I bought an E70 for this very reason! Love the video! I was just wondering how you've connected your yamaha to your interface? Do you need something after going out of the headphone out? The signal I get is really really hot and sometimes blows fuses if I plug into an amp. Thank you! (Is it just a DI?)

What are the two effects pedals that you are routing the keyboard through? Looks like the one on the left is Meraki stereo delay, but can't make out the one on the right. Also, I see an A/B box...are you sending a mic'd amp signal through those two pedals? Love your sound!

Unless you have the poly AT keybed it is NOT a CS-80 no matter what the guts are. What makes the CS-80 special is the expressivity, not the sound.

Was that some kind of aftertouch on the upper/solo keys? I'm really surprised at how nice that brass sound was.
@JeremySHGriffith
@JeremySHGriffith 5 месяцев назад
It's an analog circuit. Its ancestors are the cs line. And has this crazy modulation where you can move the entire keybed left to right. It's really cool. I've seen people buy these and rip that top keyboard out and just use it stand alone.
