They are from the Ruhrgebiet and it is an old mining area and working class, in the ealy days the lifes of the miners depends on each other, they were real bros. It is still in their culture. If you are raised there they would set you straight if you would be posh. And they have a lot of humor, I love it!
The blue ridge set legit changed my whole music trajectory lol so thankful I got to see you all and get to find Tanks channel too. Hoping maybe one day I get to meet them or even open for them. Riding the Tekkno train until then!!!!
Wie geil sich das anfühlen muss, wenn ein Amerikaner das eigene Zeug nicht kopiert, sondern covert. Live. In New York. Respekt, ich hoffe, da kommt zur rechten Zeit mal mehr!
Hey Tank! This is/was your merch driver Tony. Just wanted to thank you for an amazing tour and the memories along the way! It's easy to see why the band loved you so much. Hope to see you on upcoming tours!!!
Can only speak about the past, but I first met them at a small festival a few years ago. We got to talk a bit and drank a few beers together, they are really nice and extremely fun to be around
Seconded. I've been going to their concerts since 2012, so obviously I've been to quite a lot (and very small ones in the beginning too on top of it). After a small gig in Düsseldorf or Dortmund(?), we ran into Kevin and had a very nice chat. He was so pleasantly talkative, kind, funny and genuine that time flew and after half an hour, we had to go "Sorry, we need to go home now ..." 😂 He remembered me though and when we would meet him after gigs, he would still know my name every single time. What you guys see of them in these vlogs? 100000% real. He was EXACTLY like that back then already. I have nothing but respect and love for these guys.
I can only agree with you. I was their double driver for the Hypa Hypa Tour in 2022, even took over the last two days as Solo-Driver. The Band and Crew were just normal human beings. Nerding out Backstage about Cardgames, jamming to music while driving and having a smoke, it was a blast. Everyone knew their shit, everyone DID their shit and it was just very well rounded all around. I have the Lanyard of the Tour proudly hanging on my PC-Desk to this day. And I was on Tour with Bands like Destruction, Exodus and Overkill. NOTHING beats Electric Callboy when it comes to human decency and absolute Respect. Nothing but Love and Positivity when it comes to my memories of it.
Thihi... Tank loving that Nico is so "direct", while knowing that being direct is just a normal german thing is so funny. Tank, I am sure you would fit right in here in germany! 😉
Can I just say, that while I love the music of EC, what I appreciate the fuck out of all this is grown men in this genre of music and the industry being comfortable and confident in speaking about their feelings. Like fuck. it's a breath of fresh air.
Electric Callboy was the most fun I’ve had at a concert ever! They were always showing appreciation and love to the fans throughout the show. It was so cute when they’d bring people’s kids on stage for the group photo. It’s awesome how respectful they are of their whole crew. The complete opposite of the douchey rockstar persona. So happy you had a great experience!
This tour was absolutely insane. It was great to finally meet you and some of the band! Glad to provide the video for you! It was an absolute blast seeing you on stage with these guys!! ❤
It's SO NICE and refreshing to hear that a band can be this nice while on tour 😊❤❤ And Electric Callboy is literally a huge band right now. It's really nice that none of that success has gone to their heads.
I think the fact they started to be internationally successful in their 30s instead of their 20s might play a part in that, it's probably easier to stay down to earth with that extra level of maturity! But also they seem like genuinely real good people!
@@misscrackwood Well... not necessarily. Even in their mid 20's most of german youth won't excessively exeggerate themselves, because that is not meant to be in our educational approach. Our children are trained constantly to humble themselves knowing being a dick will get you nowhere in Germany. That is, why we don't have any Zuckerberg's, Musk's or even Trump's over here.
In one of the interviews Kevin (I think it was him) said that they have a pledge - if any of the guys starts acting like a star the rest is expected to beat him back into humility xD
It must be so satisfying to work for people who are that nice in that industry. I've never heard of them but i will check them out just because they are solid people.
EC is a class act from everything I've heard even before this video. I mean just the fact they changed their name when nobody asked them to because they didn't want to alienate anybody. Absolute legends! Really hope I get to see them soon!
I flew out to Minneapolis to see this show. It was one of the most fun concerts I've ever been to in my life. After the show there were some people hanging out near the buses and I was talking to them about the concert and Nico and Kevin came over and talked to all of us for like 15+ minutes, took pictures and everything. They were so awesome. Sad I didn't get to talk to you, but you were in the zone trying to get everything loaded up and on the road after the show. I'm glad everything behind the scenes was as fun and wholesome as the bit I saw from the crowd and after the show!
17 minutes of joy and I can't stop smiling. It's like having a first date, you write for months, than meet for the first time and then you are over the moon, that the person is really is as nice as you thought. And then it's pure love.❤
Wow, Tank, your german part is awesome!🤩 The prononciation is really, really good! And the verses in CastropxSpandau aren't easy, because they're quite fast. Much love from Germany! ❤🤗
honestly, I have NEVER heard anyone say a single bad word of that band. I saw them live at Copenhell, and they seemed like such a chill and awesome band.
I always struggle to separate the artist from the art, but it works both ways... knowing the artist(s) are absolute legends opens my brain and ears to stuff I wouldn't normally appreciate or enjoy.
These guys are from my town, a former mining community. Down in the mine, you used to value two things in a man: He had to work as hard as yourself so your team could meet its production target, and he had to have half an eye on his collegues always. One day your life would depend upon one of your collegues having your back. There was very little time for small talk. In short, miners grew up to be hard working and very direct teamplayers. The mines are closed now and the old miners slowly die out, but that mindset is still part of our culture to an extent.
Oh, this gonna make me cry, I just know. I love the boys SO much! Every one of their vlogs shows how much they love and care for each other. They are so sweet, and kind, not at all afraid to show vulnerability, and confident enough in themselves and their sexuality to hug and kiss each other, without having to yell "Haha, no h*mo, though!" I'm so happy for you to have become part of this beautiful family. Everybody should have friends like this, and the world would be in a much better place. ❤😊
On the subject of moving to Germany - I think that would be a good choice. You would of course have to go Metric full out as it is set out in the DIN-standards (DIN = Deutsche Industrie Normen) but other than that it shouldn't be any problem. With regards to Ingrid and the School system in Germany I believe it has a very good standard. Depending on where in Germany you plant your roots you might even find an American School to enroll her in. Regardless of how it turns out - Moving or not, full time TM for EC or not - I wish you all the best for your future. Cheers / Mr_B_Dublin
Yeah a move to germany should be no Problem for someone like Tank. The German Education system is pretty decent (although on the decline a bit but i hope that will change in the next few years :P ). If they would offer you a fulltime Job the area around their "Homebase" is pretty nice to live in. You have Cities like Essen, Dortmund, Düsseldorf (where i live hehe) and plenty more to choose from that all have good Schools for your Kid, plenty of Job opportunities even if you dont work fulltime for the Boys and more :)
It’s so refreshing to hear that a band that is growing that quickly, is still humble and respectful to their crew, especially one they have just met for that tour. So glad you got to do this with them, you deserve it dude. Keep up the awesome content, and keep being an awesome roadie ❤️
@@TankTheTech I generally just travel for techno, so it was my first mosh experience as well. I then shortly after went to Jinjer when they were in my vicinity, so thanks again 🥰
Kevin & Nico are my favourite bromance in Metal. Whole band is super wholesome. I sadly missed out on seeing them here in Australia coz they sold out so quick!
Nico is very straight forward. He told one fan that was in the front at the show in Santa Ana not to flip him off because that is not the way to tell him you love him. He said maybe a kiss would, but not the middle finger. LOL!!
I can’t believe that this kind of behavior isn’t standard. I would never expect somebody who was my tour manager to ever do anything meaningless like carry my bags or clean up messes and shit like that it’s really nice to hear that there are other artists out there like me who believe in, including the crew, and treating them like family as opposed to treating them like they’re disposable. ❤
I am so incredibly proud and happy for you and what you have become to the modern online metal community ❤️ thanks Tank and EC for all the joy you bring , love from Denmark 🇩🇰
The whole crew may not go on the stage and perform but every member of the crew is important for making sure the tour goes smooth. There's no reason to treat them like crap.
Man that actually made me tear up a little and I wasn't even part of the tour. Awesome that you had such a great time! If you ever move to Germany you will surely fit just right in!
There is so much awesome about these guys. I'm 40 now, and this is actually pretty much the only metal band, that both me and my kids (17 and 16) really enjoy. We saw them live in Hamburg earlier this year, and it was a total blast, and maybe the best family trip ever 😅 So awesome to hear, that EC actually are as nice as they seem to be ❤
I am so happy to see you and Electric Callboy together. I am so incredible happy that they honored you like this! It is so freaking metal to see this. That has to be a Core Memory for you. Oh and if it wasn't clear You totaly rocked that segment! God damn I will never forget when I saw your videos the first time about Sabaton wich is one of my favorite bands and then you started these Videos about Electric Callboy and it evolved into such a great Bromance. I love to see this. And for me the most emotional thing in this video is that a Roadie got honored and valued like this! Love you Tank! Love you EC!
oh boy, time to get emotional again. loved to hear you talk about the tour and following you via social media, it looked to be an amazing experience both professionally and personally and I'm glad that you came out of it with new friendships ❤ waiting for that trip/move to Germany ;)
I saw them live in Chicago, I was so hyped when they brought you out on stage. Best performance I've seen in a very very long time, possibly ever. Fan for life.
Was at the Sacramento show. Was the most fun I've had at a show in my 36 years of life. I was worried that they wouldn't give it 100% Boy was I so pleasantly surprised. They just seem like the nicest people. Glad you had an amazing experience!
That Euro tour with them was extremely helpful man. Showed everyone's role and the band was so kind to everyone. It was great to see. I don't enjoy that style of music but seeing how they operate it made me a fan of them. Great great band. Thank you for that documentary. Cheers!
Through people like you, it may become clear to many others that Germans may have a harsher language but are far from the stereotypical bad german. One certainly can't say they represent Germany as it is as a whole, but one can certainly say they represent the best in us.
I was at the show in NYC! I have footage of this exact performance too! It was so cool to see you up there - It was a surprise! I had no idea you were out tour managing with them. Awesome that the band got you on board. Great to hear that they're good humans. Love this band
This honestly makes me so happy to hear, I've become a huge fan of them and I've always had the impression that they're lovely people, and to hear this makes me feel good about supporting them. Also, that's one thing you'll notice in general about Germans, is they're very very real. They're very honest, and when they bring you into their inner circle you're there pretty much for life unless you really fuck it up somehow. That's been my reaction with all of my friends I've met over here and I love it so much. Hopefully I get the chance to see them live some day before too long!
Welcome back Tank! Thank you for sharing your experiences on the tour. I'm so happy for you. I found out about EC through your reaction videos. Everything I learn about the guys makes me admire them even more. Hopefully we're going to have many years of great music and lots of fun from them. BTW German Techno is awesome. I usually listen to it along with Slaughter to Prevail, Lorna Shore and other metal bands.
You have not found good employers for whom you enjoy doing your job, but real friends. That's rare, but it makes me incredibly happy to hear and see that something like that still exists. You deserve it! 🤗
EC was one of my first metal bands ever to see live, my cousin just took me with him when I was 11 or 12 to one of their earlier shows. Been at EC Shows 7 or 8 times and got the chance to talk to most of them on multiple occasions and can confirm that these are just nicest and coolest guys in the music bizz. From meeting Daniel at Rock am Ring and just talking about music to working with pascal on a music video for Blind Channel and having conversations for hours. I love this band not just because of the music but because the people in this band are just incredible people. Been to the first Escalation Fest and hope to be on the last Escalation Fest one day.
I am so happy that you had a great time. We were at the escalation fest now for the second time and I was hoping so badly that you would just jump out on stage at some point! P.S- I got the same hoodie weeeeeh!!! ❤
i had a kinda similar experience last summer where the singer of my favourite band (Coldplay) brought me on stage as i had a sign requesting my favourite song (which they'd only played once since 2016), but since he didn't remember the lyrics he had me sing almost half the song myself in front of 55.000 people. It's such an amazing memory to have, but like you keep saying i don't remember much from the actual thing happening.. That was totally unplanned thos so having a band you manage plan and do something like this is mind blowing!
So happy for you, making me me even more excited for seeing them in the UK, glad they're exactly as they seem in interviews and the music they gift to us.
Dude! I'm so happy for you and so glad, you had an awesome time with the guys from EC. Also, your German on stage was really good and understandable, man! Love your content and your videos in general. You have such a humble and fun personality. Of course they like you, dude. Keep it up. Greetings from Austria 👋🇦🇹🤘🤘
Oh Tank, this is soooooo chuffing wholesome. I did a cry for ya! Honestly it's just so beautiful. Humans being good humans, showing mutual respect as standard. As the world should be. Gives me faith in humanity again. ❤️
Hearing how much of an amazing time you had and they had working together, makes me really really happy for you. Hopefully this opens many door for you in the future, tank. 🤘🤘🤘
Das ist so schön zu hören. Es bestätigt auch genau mein Eindruck von den Jungs. Ich freu mich sehr für dich das du dabei sein durftest und so einen tollen Job gemacht hast.❤
It's so heartwarming to hear you all speak on how awesome and special this tour has been because it really felt like that for me and my bff as well. I said it a few times already but it's such a great feeling to know the band I fell in love with are genuinely great people. For the short time we spent with them and you, it really felt like we were just a bunch of friends talking about nothing and everything. I'm so happy this tour turned out to be such a meaningful moment in your career and in your personal life, and I can't wait to see you all again, hopefully soon! Also shoutout to the girls from Conquer Divide who are absolutely badass ❤
Electric Callboy is definitely in my top 3 favorite live shows. Can't wait to see them again when they come back to Pittsburgh. Hopefully they are in a bigger and better venue than The Roxian next time!
I'm so glad to keep hearing good things about this band. With all the bands and musicians I used to love who leave a bad taste now that kinda ruins my enjoyment of them, I am so happy these guys seem to be as nice as I think they are. I so hope it stays that way.
This is honestly fucking amazing! It's one thing being amazing artists which they are but to hear that they're genuine amazing people too is so cool! This band have gone up even higher in my opinion now :)
I met them in person back in the day when they had released their first EP. Self-published. They sold their own merch. This was over a decade ago. Kevin and I did goofy stuff up until 5 AM until the club closed the doors. It is so great to see that you had this experience!
Honestly Tank, that treatment you recieved in the past sounds awful. Maybe I am just too European, but I tought...hoped most of the bands, artist are like Electric Callboy, that do not treat their crew and everybody around them like slaves. It was so heartwarming to see your and the guys posts throughout the tour, I can see that this was a really moving experience for you - despite the difficulties, I hope they will go there sometime in the future - but also hoping for a concert near my area again, I saw them live in Budapest this spring - best concert of my life.
I am sincerely happy for you experiencing this. And also for the band experiencing you. I've been following your channel for at least three years and found a lot of bands here I now adore. And I love videos like this or the Orbit Culture one, where you share your experiences and feelings about bands and their music. It seems you and EC were made for each other. On a side note: you and your family are very welcome in Germany. Liebe Grüße.
DAAAAAMN TANK ! You perfomed freaking nice dude ! I would love to see this performance in real. and your german on that track is awesome dude! greetings from Hamburg
I went to the show in Philly and that was literally one of the best shows ive ever been to. Electric Callboy are just one of those humble and amazing nice bands that I love. I will forever be a fan after what I saw/experienced after that show. They really are the nicest guys
One of the things that initially drew me to this band was their huge air of positivity and joy in what they do. You don't see that enough in metal. It's great to hear that they walk their talk and are really sweet guys! So happy for you man, and thanks again for introducing me (and so many of us) to them in the first place! Also, holy shit dude, you've got a nice bark! (Harsh vox)
Had a blast at their first gig in Finland, sadly missed them at Tuska festival in Finland but the tent stage they were on was super full, hope they come here again soon ❤
