With all that weight, half the speed (sailing)?

6hp would be sufficient for getting in / out harbour

The elbow will help prevent kinks in the pipes, they will also drop the pressure due to the tight bend. Removing them is best if you can.

Hey Alex ... just a thought about the old 9.9 motor ... the channel Wilding Sailing is refitting a Wharram Pahi 42 Catamaran (also in UK), and he is looking for another 9.9 for his boat (found and bought one so far) to replace the old 2 strokes that came with it. You might want to reach out to Mark if you are planning on selling the 9.9, as he would more than likely be interested -- it might help offset the cost of the new 20 HP you already picked up!!! Your making nice progress -- too bad about that bulkhead in the water tank -- might want to add some bleach for disinfection (about 1 tsp. per 15 gallons US should do the trick).

Yeah I was thinking that! Would be ideal for him. Will definitely be cleaning that tank! Thank you Robert!

Lots of new goodies going in, looks good. With everything out of the bilge, I'd be tempted to hoover all that crud out and stick some bilge cleaner down there (ducks and runs for cover).

Where do you get your stainless steel fasteners? Getting A2 is easy enough but I need somewhere that has a good range of A4. Thanks.

Hi Alex - good videos mister and wishing you every success with your marine fun. Meanwhile, your use of clear plastic braid hose to make your water systems is a big mistake. Any water (fresh and salt) resting in a piping system exposed to any amount of daylight will grow nasty. As in bacteria with toxins. All of your piping must be 100% light proof and it does not matter if you're thinking your piping will be ok hidden in a locker - it will not be ok. Consider using domestic pex barrier piping and high quality push fittings. The 'baffle' in your water tank is to reduce sloshing - obviously when the tank is half empty then the whole lot will be swishing around each time you hit a wave. Extremes can affect the boat's stability and even damage structure. I'd say every millimetre of piping and every single original fitting and pump within your existing water tank and water system is unusable. Filling lines through to discharge lines. It's a contaminated germ pit. I'd recommend you condemn everything, else you may end severely ill when in the middle of Biscay. Always paying attention to structural integrity, you can cut access in the top of the existing water tank and install a flexible tank inside instead. (They are cheap and strong and good) All new tank All new piping to correct standard All new fittings All new pumps Backflow prevention Attention to be given on fitting backflow preventers into the toilet sink tap, shower head and galley tap. There must be no chance of contaminated water running back into the tank from any outlet. Good luck mister - but your present water system is horrific. Happy Googling BRgds .. Nick

Thanks Nick! Valid considerations to be made. Being a trailer sailer the system is drained when not in use and cleaned before every use and has an inline filter. Can confirm it tastes great and haven’t got ill from it as of yet. Couldn’t imagine the cost on doing all of the upgrades suggested.

@@AlexGoesSailingWell, you don't need Raymarine gold mine but you do need water. Anyway, what's good for the soul ?? and boys toys always skew priorities. 🤪
@AlexGoesSailing

@@NikNiks1 if I ever do have a problems I will be spending on the upgrades like you suggest as they are great long term solutions. If I was living on it then it might be a different situation as tank cleaning once a week wouldn’t be possible.
