Nice, Alex. Top tip... Make yourself a sunbrella sleeve for your tiller-pilot, so when it's raining or sea-water is splashing then you don't end up with salt in the mechanism.
Great anchorage! There’s something about seeing dolphins, seals etc… in the wild as opposed to in captivity that just gives you a warm fuzzy feeling inside! 😊
Depends completely on the person but on my similar size boat I have gone on 10 day trips or even a little longer. The limitations are water and food really like anything and that can be reset but popping into a marina.
In my opinion you should always at least try the filler plug first then the drain because if you drain it and that filler plug is stuck it’s not a fun day
That was the best weekend on the Solent I've had in ages! Vixen (Astus 22.5) was anchored in the next bay toward Cowes and close to the beach. The water was lovely and the children, wife and I had a fabulous time. We will definately do this again when it warms up.
dude! im gonna copy it all xD got a small 22' boat pretty much like yours. and having a foldable system for trip with xt60 connector bloody genius! and 2 small solar for general purpose. finding like minded people in this range is impossible. glad i found you!
I used to live in Pompey also Chichester now live on the Forth. The weather the last few years has been not very dry or warm. When is this warming going to appear. But it is a great place to live good people and sometimes great weather?
You picked the wrong 3 days in Scotland if wanted nice weather. 🤣 Still an interesting looking sail and as lots of people say "no such thing as bad weather, just unsuitable clothes" Not me I like the sun great update 2x👍
@AlexGoesSailing it's the same in Cornwall unfortunately, places I used to anchor for free now charge and on the Helford they wanted £66 for two if us to use one visitors buoy with no facilities 🫣
@@fat_tommo_goes_boatingHelford River was always valued for being free. But now £66! Daylight robbery, is that Dutch of Cornwall, if so I am definitely a republican!
Great episode, cannot wait for the next one, you are heading to my part of the world. Looking forward to seeing Mingulay in Mingulay bay. Enjoy the Outer Hebrides and especially Barra and Vatersay.
@@AlexGoesSailing oh man! I'm sorry to hear that, tell him I said I hope he's better soon. Did Lizzie happen to have an alibi during this accident? Can't be too careful with security when you're big stars you know.🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was about to write a comment when I recognised Gregs boat in the background when you were putting the mast up, until i realised you two were buddy boating!! Shame he has had a rudder failure a couple days ago whilst on his trip around the uk😢 nice video Alex and nice to see Lizzie!
RU-vid on a small scale isn’t worth it as a job but that’s why I do it for some fun and to document my adventures. I will be over to the Scillies later this summer. Drop me a message on instagram!
Arrrh, thorght I recognized your boat earlier... took a few hours to click where I knew it from! Passed you this evening near Brownsea island... Grey hulled Trident with a red flag on the mast. Anchored in blood ally. Good to see you out and about brother... take care
@@AlexGoesSailing Arrrh, thanks Alex... restored her 2 years ago and been a live aboard ever since. Passed Studland earlier... only a few other boats on the outer swing moorings. Just anchored up in Swanage. Love ya channel, hopefully see you around. Andy
