That's really impressive they pull this off live in the 70s. This song has ALOT of layers to it. There's a reason why people like George Harrison and Tom petty held Jeff Lynne in such high regard.
I love it when that 🎹 that this keyboardist plays can actually punctuate the ‘Mr. Blue Sky’ while it ‘sings’. I never seen anything like it! Amazing and extremely Fascinating!
Understand that these guys understood music and how to play instruments. No audio correction. What you heard was what their magic, nothing was messed with by computer or AI. Listen and watch bands from the 60s and 70s. They had no artificial help. ❤
Was there at Wembley. This concert was amazing for it’s time. An huge flying saucer which opened up and there they were playing. Also the use of lasers was the first time we’d ever seen something like that. Plus of course superb music and sound systems
i listened to this album while on lsd and it was amazing. I think the most beautiful trip of my life, not even with pink floyd I saw what I saw with this music here.....,,.... i loved
they might have been using a backing track i was at an elo concert in berkeley and towards the middle of the concert, the backing track tape broke people were pissed but lynne wanted to recreate the studio sound and im not sure the record company wanted to foot the bill for added strings to do that
First time i heard this was 2008's the game plan with the rock i was only 10 then i heard it again in Guardians of the galaxy and was like "I HAVE to find this song" and now i come back every week damn near to here different versions of it
Back then, you had to have a singing voice, because there was no auto-tune. That’s why most live performances back then were almost the same as studio versions.
yea now its just 100% autotune and being goodlooking matters now(thats what singers care about now,and money) there was having fun the point of live, now its money(for most singers) and in my oppiniun: everybody who likes the music now can stfu, they have no taste! i hope all the singers die off corona or stop
@@elliottmaet2566 That's how it is now :( They can't make legendary songs like Mr. Blue Sky, a great banger! Though I'm just in middle school but I really adore songs like this, it's a perfect way to start a new day :D
The first vocoder was put together in Munich and had it brought found to studio. Lynne remembered the sound from a kids record from the late 50s early 60s. Saw a breakdown of this tune on "Prroduce Like A Pro" youtube today . 6-4-2022
Bardzo dobry koncert Live in Wembley 1978 roku, mam to w wersji VHS i DVD . Jest to koncert charytatywny z udziałem rodziny królewskiej a prowadził ten koncert Live in Wembley Tony Curtis.
No they didn't...I seen this concert 2x once in Cleveland and once in detroit ...they sometimes use tapes for intros..I know elo live. . seen 17 elo concerts starting in 1973....I know difference between live and album....
@@EvandroSvejk in ELO’s case….they had way too many backing tapes going on bc simply….they had to. I rarely bother with ranking Studios with “Supposed” live recordings. I like alternate versions of tunes I like and this an example….I like both
