Sometimes I am wake up in the morning. Condition is not so good. Making coffee. Eat something, and play on:"twilight " From elo. It's not a music, it's energy for you life. 40 years listening. It's music of happiness!!!!!!
I am agree with you. But Beatles is greatest. They are making songs too much fast. Now that's we are listening like classic music elo is a same.forty years Ago. Read my comment on elo song :"ticket to the moon "
ELO. Something always classic with ELO, but always futuristic and avant-garde. Jeff and Co. really put together their sound but also perfect balance of commercial and artistic merit. That's what it's all about. Forever grateful and forever congratulations, ELO!
@@izzynutz2000 Maybe not: 1975 - First use of lasers: The Who first used lasers on 18 Oct. 1975, at Granby Halls, Leicester. Richard Barnes: “This tour was the first time they used their $36,000 lasers in the act and the first time lasers had been used in a rock show anywhere.” The rock group The Who are generally recognised as pioneering the integration of the laser effects with music. John Wolff provided The Who with a few 90-second bursts of laser light from eleven lasers during their performances (Kallard 1979). Excerpt from March 1976 article in Circus about the Fall 1975 U.S. tour kicking off in Houston: Lighting for the concert was superb, with ultra-bright white spots situated at the rear of the stage and ignited at crucial moments (including the agonized screams in “Won’t Get Fooled Again”), flooding into the eyes of the audience. The group also experimented with laser beams (similar to the ones Led Zeppelin’s used on their last outing), which gave the effect of solid tubes radiating from the stage. The band was not allowed to use this laser setup in England, where the tour actually began in October, at the 8,000-seat New Bingley Hall in Stafford-so American audiences were the first to view its dramatic effect.
1980, I was 9 when this came out. My brother and I shared a room, he was 2 years older, and always much, much wiser when it came to music. We wore this tape out, playing it over and over, and would also listen to it on vinyl. Twilight was always my favorite on the album. ELO and Jeff Lynne were part of the soundtrack of my life, and I'm a lifelong fan.
@@gwsharkj Wearing out the tape in the 80's is why this was the very first Compact Disc that I bought in 1990. I asked for a CD player that Christmas. Unfortunately the boombox I picked out skipped too much so I took that back and bought a DS-1 the very first Sony Discman portable player instead.
A theme music from mega hit romance-comedy drama "Densha Otoko" ! Well known, popular song in Japan. A favorite song out of all the ELO songs. ^_−☆
My friend and I were on a several-day high school field trip for the school band, and one night in the motel we got really stoned and came up with a good one- 'you either did it, or you dreamed it'.
When I first heard it I just fell in love with it. It is just what I imagine when I think of music of the future. Such a majestic, cosmic sound. Blew my mind. I do not know a thing about a Jeff Lynne, but this one alone shows that he is a genius with a capital letter GENIUS.
This one makes me wanna get up and dance and I love it, and the man behind it. Pure brilliance and musical genius is Jeff Lynne. You are a gift to this world. 🌹
I bought this album when i was 14 years old. It already fascinated me back then. It's like yesterday. And i still love ELO's music very much because it is something very special. Thank you very much ELO, your music makes my life happier 🎵💗🎵
@@lisa-mariegray5510 Sorry to hear that- for me, I think it helped me move on. That might be why I don't get super sad any more listening to it, but it can still work up a few tears now and again. I hope you have a wonderful day!
I always thought this album was awesome...despite the critics thinking otherwise! Great concept...excellent songwriting and singing/playing as always and I loved it then...and I still love it now!!!
As a teen I always wanted to see this album become a feature length film telling the story of this concept album as it goes from song to song throughout the film.
Being Disabled I can't afford Tickets to the all time Greatest Band I Admire... Love to have Two Back Stage Passes to their New York's August 21st. or 22nd. Show seeing I live an hour away in New Jersey. USA.. Can't get any better than Jeff Lynne's ELO !!!
Lirics by Jeff Lynne The visions dancing in my mind The early dawn, the shades of time Twilight crawling through my windowpane Am I awake or do I dream, The strangest pictures I have seen Night is day and twilight's gone away With your head held high and your scarlet lies You came down to me from the open skies It's either real or it's a dream There's nothing that is in between Twilight, I only meant to stay awhile Twilight, I gave you time to steal my mind Away from me. Across the night I saw your face You disappeared without a trace You brought me here, but can you take me back Inside the image of your light That now is day and once was night You lead me here and then you go away. Twilight, I only meant to stay awhile Twilight, I gave you time to steal my mind Away from me. You brought me here, but can you take me back again? With your head held high and your scarlet lies You came down to me from the open skies It's either real or it's a dream There's nothing that is in between Twilight, I only meant to stay awhile Twilight, I gave you time to steal my mind Away from me. Twilight, I only meant to stay awhile Twilight, I only meant to stay awhile Twilight, Twilight, Twilight, Twilight.
Great song! I was 10 at the time this came out but don’t remember hearing this when new. I do remember hearing “Hold On Tight” on the radio a lot back then.
Hey HitsTown, HOLD ON TIGHT was the big hit single from this album. You likely never heard TWILIGHT as it peaked at #38 in December 1981 marking a very brief 3 week run in the Top 40. I remember hearing it on radio for 3-4 weeks during the Thanksgiving-Christmas season but as soon as Christmas was over, the track vanished from the airwaves.
I was literally listening to this album my whole life and it inspired me to start to play keyboards when I was a kid. I don't know if it's possible to recreate the sound of this album in the studio, using modern audio gear.
Buddy of mine turned me onto this album back in the early summer, I only really knew ELO from the hits (mr blue sky, livin thing, etc). And this album melted my face off. I was BLOWN away. Every track is a hit, but Twilight has become one of my all time favorite songs. Just a perfect song start to finish. Gotta preface it with Prologue tho, it’s like listening to Anytime by Journey without starting it with Feeling That Way. Doesn’t make it complete.
By this time, ELO had evolved more into just "continuing where The Beatles left off", to the point that this song would sound almost nothing like The Beatles.
"TWILIGHT, I ONLY MEANT TO STAY A WHILE. TWILIGHT, I GAVE YOU TIME TO STEAL MY MIND AWAY FROM ME. INSIDE THE IMAGE OF YOUR LIGHT THAT NOW IS DAY AND ONCE WAS NIGHT. YOU LEAD ME HERE AND THEN YOU GO AWAY." - powerful song with poetic lyrics
... and here we are in 2023, living the lyrics as technology erodes elements of our humanity and becomes more than a tool, we have allowed it to overtake our creative efforts. We've forgotten how to build and DO... our minds are allowed to divert our thoughts to wallowing in self-doubt as a species.
