This is awesome! I went through a lot of this on my project last year and this would have been amazing. Going to have to apply some things from this with my updates this year. :D
Hi Curt, KP changes automaticaly after KI is set (KP=10xKI). Newer batches of FD controllers have newer FW that allows much more settings + change pinout/(de)activate pins + have unlocked more parameters but older version of app (2.1.5 - 2.1.6) should be able to allow you to change parameters that are locked in latest version of app so give it a try if PC would not work.
Duuuude! Coool stuff! I love these detailed engineering videos. Quick question: you referenced “they” a couple of times for when it seemed you needed an answer. Is that a forum or the given instructions or are you actually getting a human to answer some of your questions? I’m just curious how the support for that controller measures up. Did you have to pay any “engineering” fee like with a BAC controller?
The only “they” is the sales rep from QS/SIAecosys. Unfortunately, the best rep I always worked with left the company, and it’s been harder to get support. The electric motorcycle builder group is always helpful, but I am just now posing questions, so no support from there yet. No cost for programs or anything like that! It’s a pretty good interface from what I’ve used, I’ve just not yet figured out some of the finer points. Diving into the computer app will probably be very helpful, though likely less user friendly
@@andrewroberts4577 do it! A bunch of really helpful and knowledgeable people. Hopefully I can keep up with projects enough to have some good info for people here as well
The default regen brake values are very low, I've got mine at 20amp stopbackcurrent and 30amp maxbackcurrent. That value for my setup really helps braking without being too severe
Did you have to use the computer app to change it or do you have a different mobile app version that let you change it? It locks me out for anything above 10amps right now
@@LordCurt I used the app, I previously had an old version of the app which allowed the changes. I updated to the latest version a while ago and had no trouble adjusting it on that either? Really strange that you're not able to set it higher?
This is actually the most recent update. I’ll have a whole video on basically just this soon. In short, I was able to find an old android version that allowed me to change parameters successfully. Controller is juiced!
