That was very good, thanks. Electric motorcylces with 100+km range and chargeable in 4-5 hours from a standard power point? From a 7kW charger, maybe an hour and a half? I reckon for electric, we have to go small. 50kW hours, I reckon is the absolute maximum battery size in a vehicle for it to be practical so a 3t behemoth is not practical for this mode of transport. Maybe when they have 1000Wh per kilogram, sure, but now...its just silly IMHO. The EV manufacturers have to get the price down - they are out of control at the moment.

@@TheOffGridShop I'm excited about that too. I don't think they will compete with LiPo for energy density as is needed in vehicles, but stationary storage is looking very promising. I suggested in another forum that due to the wide voltage from empty to full range of Sodium batteries, one little development of BMS would be to also boost output voltage to make it a constant voltage battery. I think the topology of current BMS lends itself to behaving as a boost circuit without too much in additional components Just a thought. Maybe someone out there can run with this idea?

I thought the same about energy density until a recent insider told me where they are at right now. They are pretty close to being on par and with a commercial product.

And yes I agree with you with size and weight. That's the reason I am not a fan of electric 4wds. I tow with out Tesla and it loves to use the energy. We use 5-6 times more energy when towing.
