i swear. I feel music like this is sometimes the only thing keeping me from putting a bullet in my brain. so fucking emotive and powerful. it's certainly inspired me to try and make some heavy shit of my own.
No kidding. There was a time 3yrs back.. fuck I'm drunk, it was during the power outage of 'Snowtober' back when my legs were crippled and I was mute. Long story of medical malpractice, I had spent the past week 8hrs a day upchucking bile in the bathroom and was right about to slit my wrists. The power outage combined with this album(this song in particular) played on a Sansa Fuze and AKG K81, combined with a fullmoon, candlelight, and Black Sabbath marathon on a battery powered cheap transistor radio.. Fuck man, it saved my life. I experianced a trip that gave me the hope & motivation needed not only to live but to spite all the mother fuckers who said I was a goner. Today I jog and spit venom at my parents for claiming my room for storage when I was soon to be dead. Put down the gun & live, if only to fuck those who want you dead. That's the essence of the wizard & a man drunk on moonshine getting nostalgic for power outages.
@@astrozombie138 I think so. I still need to do some proper stoner doom though with a hyperfuzz ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Fqg_gj9Ufso.html
What a track, 15 minute epic. I sat here in pitch black darkness, I couldn't help but turn the volume up, and up, and up, and up until I was totally enveloped in the sound. I mean you want to talk about "transported to another place"? I was there, and it was blissful and terrifying all at once.
Crucified by the sun, In the shadow of the iron cross, Saturn's children come, Invoke the supercoven. Many armed we strike, Like wolves in the night, And the cross turns to black.... And the children of the sun, Know their time has come, Give up the fight, slip back into the night.... Turn off your mind, there's nothing to find.... Find out here....
Same here brother....just started getting into black metal, the mighty Darkthrone especially, and my wife of 900 years keeps asking...what is that demonic bullshit your listening to haha
I listened to alone in the park on acid, an alien 👽 demon 😈 inter dimensional being appeared before me. I legitimately shat myself and ran 🏃♀️ 😪 as the shat caked its way, smudging down my legs.
Chronos (Saturn) represents origins (the Past), Ananke represents the destinations (the Future). The future gives birth to the present, which is always devoured by the past - hence the myth's metaphor. Both Chronos and Ananke were the first gods born of Chaos (the void) the moment it achieved Gnosis (awareness) of itself, the birth of the present moment is the birth of time in general. On that note, thanks for letting me eat your baby, lol....
hahaha well im from greece so i happen to know the myth very well... Although i do not even remember the comment i made probably because... well you can understand why... oh and you're welcome :p
@@abe2517 chronos embodies many things and is important to the origins of civilizations as those from the heavens have deemed it so. also...all monotheistic religions which are based in juidaism (sumerian origins) worship two main planetary bodies. The sun, and saturn. Hence the two most revered days of the western world, saturday and sunday. The hexagonal storm on the north pole of saturn is the black cube of mecca, the folded cube of christianity and the hexagonal star of judaism. Hexagons are 2d cubes. Bound in a decaying vortex.
After the first few seconds, my original comment was going to pose the question, " Who hears the obvious Black Sabbath sound?" Upon reading some of the comments, I feel like that would be a very shallow question. Some of you people are quite intelligent. It has become clear to me that you all know the influence.
@José Daniel Bazán Manzano tune to C, from there the main riff is C, A#, C, A# then F#. Let the lowest string rumble and just play around while listening to the song. You'll get it pretty quick, happy dooming
Around 10 years ago, I discovered this gem. I used to hike in Sinai Egypt almost on a monthly basis (I still do, but sadly less frequently). Anyway, I used to travel to St Catherine at night arriving there very early at dawn. I used to play this while on the bus. Not asleep, not awake, right in the middle. It became a personal ritual for some reason. After that, I abstained myself from listening to this song at ALL TIMES (I dont listen to this song AT ALL), except when I'm going there, at a specific time (just when the day barely breaks), at a specific part of the road (in a narrow road between towering mountains), at a specific state (very tired from a week-long work). I just blast this into my headphones and take a trip. Its but a prayer to me. I pray to some sort of a cosmic entity of some sorts. It just takes me away from everything. Edit: PS, when I listen to this song, I'm not drunk nor high, nor under any influence but sleep deprivation and the monolithic epicness of this piece of cosmic art. Further edit: The only tracks that are part of this ritual are: Death and beyond, by My Brother The Wind The albums Opus Premium, and Eve, by Ufomammut
i just imagine tim bagshaw and mark greening listening to this after they broke up with the wizard thinking ''shit... i guess he doesn't need us afterall''
Saturn and Lucifer definitely aren't the same but I get the point. We are being consumed by the great titan of time, and he has manipulated his form to where he is more than just an entity. It's a planet. It's a feeling
This has reminded me of the melancholia movie by von trier and the scenes in slow motion where this planet crush into ours, just pure bliss in the middle of the most unimaginable chaos. I like the saturn's mithology tho.
@@fabiancampos4304 That is actually the only album I haven't listen from them (and I consider myself a Fan God i'm soo terrible🤦♂️). But for me- The heviest album: Come in fanatics The Classic Album: Dopethrone The Underrated Album: Let us prey The Best Album: We live (Sorry if i'm talking too much. I Just never see an EW fan😅)
@@bruh......2005 haha don't worry, neither I dont know personally Electric Wizard fans (where I live nobody listens the same music I do), so is nice to talk and read about their albums Their self titled album is very nice, but not as sludgy as the others
@@fabiancampos4304 I tried to one song of them from that album right now( Electric Wizard -EW) and now that I notice it does sound like from Sleep Holy Mountain. So did they did a cover of it or did Sleep did
They just played in Chicago. It was awesome. Heavyheavyheavyheavy goodness. I just wish they'd spruce up their set list. They played pretty much the same songs they played here four years ago. I wonder why we can't hear a song like the live?
Put this on repeat when I was cycling through a heavy snowstorm to my vacation job. It was the most epic bike ride of my life and I'm thankful for the experience.
Yes, in the graph of how heavy something sounds there is a line that goes from pop to black sabbath, this is in the end of that line. But it is for sure that the line goes through Black Sabbath on the way to this.
I took 25i to this man and it turned my ceiling into the cosmos. I could see planets coming into view, encased by clouds on the outskirts of the ceiling. Man, this song and that drug brought euphoria that I've yet to recreate.
You see, you can't describe light as matter. Light in itself is pure energy according to general relativity. Matter cannot travel at the speed of light without being transmutated into energy.
@@michaelmcmurray9252 No. For starters. light isn't fluid. Light is trillions of still images being played in sequence. Matter in motion is matter in motion. Light is complex dude
ris s my belief based on thirty years of study that the universe in quantum mechanics ways behaves more like and more similar to Brownian motion variable velocities. No worries, my compensation is certified.
I mean, everything is alchemy, especially EW's music, but this particular song just feels perfect for doing overly serious alchemical experiments in your basement, you know what I mean?
Imre Kiss Acid Funeral (Belzebong), Dopesmoker/Jerusalem (Sleep), anything by Acid King. Just look up doom metal or something and you'll find stuff like this.
