Thanks for showing the difference's between gauge's. My build did the same thing I has 13psi and when I removed the electric gauge I had 75 psi on the mechanical and was so baffled because I plastic gage and checked all main/rod bearings before final assembly and I should have never had 13 psi on a brand new build. Thank again for building my confidence!!!!

Great video brother. Sure makes sense to me. My electrical gauge was at 25psi. Hooked up a mechanical and was 55psi. Took all the worry away. Thanx for sharing👍

*_Only good electrical gage is a Tach, Amp Meter, and a Volt Meter that's it!!! hahaha LOL_*

I appreciate your stuff please keep us informed on the blow by issues because I am wanting to build something like what you have except add a turbo which is a Nother drain on the oil pump

You use a copper line!

The last one you showed a Faria guage vs. an old mechanical guage. Faria has been around for years making great quality guages.

Very interesting, the gauge comparison. Bummer on pulling the engine when you might not have had to. You guys are great but my only criticism of the project this far is this: I don't understand why you put so much effort into the PCV system. The PCV system is a Emissions device and NOT a performance device. To Quote the Factory Service Manual:" The Positive Crankcase Ventilation system performs two functions. (1) Prevent blow by from escaping into the atmosphere (2) Ventilate the crankcase with a portion of clean air preventing the formation of sludge." You seem like a guy who would keep on top of their oil changes so sludge is not a problem. Prior to the PCV system cars had open breathers or tubes that vented the blow by to atmosphere. Back in the day many would eliminate the PCV in their cars as the oil infused blow by would contaminate the air fuel mixture and reduce performance. Not uncommon to pull a carb and see the oily residue in the bottom of the intake manifold. Also with a larger cam the PCV was a source of a vacuum leak ( albeit a controlled one) and to improve the signal to the carburetor it was plugged. Sorry for the long reply but I feel the effort into the PCV was a huge waste of time. I would like to hear your comments on why you thought putting so much effort into that system was necessary . Putting the new breathers in the valve covers and running them to the exhaust is a good way to go to improve performance . Just remember to cap off the oil fill tube or you wont generate a negative pressure , air will just be drawn in through there. Keep up the great work. BTW its great to see Paul back in action!

The main reason was to attempt to reduce the amount of oil mist escaping the engine from the breather. The second reason was to try to keep the oil cleaner longer. We'll see how it works out with added crankcase ventilation. Hopefully a pcv won't be needed.

Thanks for your reply. I have also noticed this to be a problem on AMC's that do not run the valley pan intake gasket and instead run the edelbrock or another brand two piece intake gaskets. The Valley pan acts as a secondary layer to prevent oil from getting to the bottom of intake. I don't remember which Intake gasket you are running. I commend you on installing the baffle on the bottom of the intake. Most people never install that on their new manifolds. Keep up the great work.

Is there any way to calibrate that electrical gauge? It seems to respond well, but maybe needs an offset adjustment.

Hi guys love your RU-vid channel I also have the same 455 in a 1967 firebird I need help pls when I start the car oil pressure is good but if I go for a drive it starts to drop at a stop light but if I'm hitting the gas she gose right up what can it be I have the original rally gauges of the same year as the car any help will be appreciated keep up the good work love Pontiacs

toss a mechanical gauge on it, if you get the same readings you're loosing pressure for some reason.
