Hi fantastic video again I have economy 7 heaters in my property on they wall they have on and off switch I want to change them to smart switch like meross smart switch I want to control the time on my economy 7 instead coming on at 12.30 every night

I think the message in the fuse box was also a reference to a rock song from the 90s, "Get the funk out" by Extreme (look it up on RU-vid and listen to the chorus).

Question regarding the quinetic switches. Given that the receiver is in the loft, if there is a power cut to the address, do the switches automatically reconnect or do they need to be paired up again?

At 18:35, had most of my fellow HVACR techs, here, on the opposite side of the pond, been presented with that opportunity, the "rubber band, with jumbo paper clip" would have been deployed, with the accuracy of a crossbow and sniper! I love watching these U.K. electricians videos, seeing one where you don't have to straighten out someone else's "horrendous job", is quite rewarding! Do you or did you need to use any kind of sealant or similar for the cables entering at rear of C.U? I watch quite a few different sparks fitting boards on Y.T and each almost have their own opinion and method of doing so.

Lol - non-Wago connectors in a Wago box! Sure someone has, or will, whinge about that! (Personally, I've given up using Wago boxes - the clips/holders for the connectors are a blasted pain).

Hi, I notice these are not the Quinetic versions but they are functionally the same. Do the ENER-J switches and wifi variants work with Quinetic variants and use the same wifi App

Have you not used the new Quinetic switches. They have covers over the terminals, saves buying the extra wago box. Just an FYI if you didn't know.

Just wondering was it 3 N and 3 L in the RCD or 6 of each? I've come across this when someone wanted to add RCD protection for the ring final circuit and it turned out to be both ends of the ring and a spur. I never did work out why they didn't just pick up an RCBO...

Just a general observation here, but I’ve noticed you seem to favour some of the ahem budget consumer units. Personally I wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole. Good luck to you when (and it will be when) something goes wrong. In my experience they’re really badly constructed and aftersales is non existent. After a particularly bad experience with a melted busbar I started looking in to these ‘budget’ brands. Seems they’re all just imported from the Far East just with different names printed on them. Essentially just import companies selling them - not manufacturers. They’re all really badly constructed and I have real fears they’re not up to the various BSEN’s. The only manufacturer left with proper manufacturing facilities I’ve found in the U.K. is Wylex / Crabtree (same company). Personally I wouldn’t use anything other make. Really easy to fit and quality top notch. Even have afdd’s in their range. Come on Nick you can do better than this!

The grey matter has had to think on this one, but the light switch Adam was taking off was one from the Tenby? range of accessories which were made around 1991 (ish). This would tie in the release of the song called "Get the funk out" by Extreme which was around the same time so its quite likely this was on the radio when the board was being fitted when the house was being built. Wouldnt be surprised if the whole row of houses had the same calling card of that sparky in the CU.
