Just made the four hour road trip to Columbus, Ohio to pick this bad boy up!!!!! Been mucking around with it for a bit and I have to say, It’s worth every penny!!!! Thank you EHX!! I’m very impressed and it sounds AMAZING!!!!
Nooooooo! I've been sitting on the fence for a while, deciding if I really need a Canyon, then decide that I do, then I go and buy one and what do they immediately do? They go and improve it! It's like they are watching me....
Love that you demoed the doubler at 5:03 with some ‘80s era King Crimson, that was tight, sweet, all the superlatives - Robert Fripp is the perfect choice there, doubling that quick-picking wizardry. Gawd, do I want this!!
Yes he is if he has a solo album I want it absolutely a inspiration to hear like hearing my roots musicians all over for the first time and a enjoyable journey in guitar
As far as demo at 12:13 goes, I've been lucky enough to play in the room with the walls made of jello (at Jellymasters 2002 in Bratislava) and have to say, you captured that sound perfectly! So spot on. EHX
Well... Ive watched a million videos on pedals. At least... Let me just state the simple, straight up, no bullshit, facts. My board is a medium sized board. Right now its packed full of pedals. Most of them are mini's just to save space. I have 9 pedals plus my volume/expression pedal on it right now and there is no way to fit another pedal. No way. So out of my 9 actual effect pedals, 3 of them are Electro Harmonix. I have a Germanium OD (which I like because it does a "thing"), a Crayon OD, and a Deluxe Big Muff. That said... I am now choosing between the EHX products to add an Analog Delay... Then, I'm going to replace the digital delay that I currently own with yet another EHX pedal. That will mean that over half my effects will be Electro Harmonix. ...and if I can find a reason to get more, then Ill do that. I dont want to stick my head too far up your ass, but holy shit! You guys are THE BEST pedal company on the planet. You get the tone right. You get the features right, and what's most important is you get the price right. I'm not a rich guy or a pro musician, so I have other things I have to spend my money on besides pedals. Its easy to find a shit ton of pedals out there for over $500.00 per pedal. Maybe EHX has some of those, but I havent seen them. Point is, Ive never come across an EHX product that I couldnt afford or that seemed out of line as far as price goes. Ive always felt that I was getting a great product at a fair price. I just sent our singer an email saying basically the same thing. I told him that I could probably fill my whole board with EHX stuff and sound as good or better than anyone. I'm even gonna buy a freeking EHX T shirt, and I NEVER do that. Ever. OK, I'll stop raving now. Just wanted to tell you that youre the best. Please keep it up. Happy Holidays
My first exh box was called Electric Mistress? I think. It was in the early 70s. Damn great back then. I think I'm going to get this one just because I'm old as f and need to go out in style!
I love how EHX keeps their prices reasonable ($250) for a pedal with 100k options on it! I will always have an analog delay on my board, but this will be sitting beside it once I get one and get used to it.
You know they will. Just got my Ocean's 11 in August, after getting the Canyon last October. And the SuperEgo+ a month later (with the Battalion and Platform)...
I've bought and sold the Canyon 3 times. Hopefully this time will be the last time I sell it, because the El grande is comin home to daddy! The price? Did I see it was $250? Incredible! U can't buy any pedal that does half of that and sound that good for $300.
I owned the canyon and loved it, sold it for the grand canyon. I was feeling kind of ehh about it until I saw this video and realized I get too excited over all of the options and end up setting it to full feedback DMM mode most of the time and make spaceship sounds. Time to force myself to leave the spaceship and explore the other modes. That setting is still well worth the price, though!
Another Great Demo, Mr. Ruppert. I have to ask, has there ever been a pedal that you couldn't get to perform great? You seem to be the master of all the ones you demo, plus great chops.
Bill...you should include the settings for his sounds in these videos or even post them on an EH Forum. They are amazing and would boost sales big time. :)
Bill Ruppert is one of two guys who have no business doing product demos. He could plug into a Kleenex box that had a footswitch on it and you'd be like, "I will pay big dollars for this awesome pedal". Not that EHX doesn't make great products, but his playing showcases their stuff to the maximum. The other guy, of course, is Greg Koch. You could hand him a shoebox with a broom handle for a neck, strung with rubber bands, and he'd make it sound like a '59 Lester.
That guy is a great delay technician and player. I probably would never be able to use that device to its full capability because I can never read the manual but what a beautiful device!!!!
Christ! I've just hit the year mark of having the original canyon and still learning the modes, and now this? Also, Bill is bloody amazing and makes everything you put in front of him sound ace!
The arrangement you play starting at 7:23 is very fluid and well played, you could turn that into a nice piece of music if you haven't already. It's difficult to tell how good a piece of gear is when the player is so skilled that it transcends the gear itself. On the other hand you know EH is happy about this video. Cheers
Damn. I got my Canyon about a year or so ago. Now I have to sell it and get this one. The struggle is real. Wasn't expecting ehx to make another one. Awesome that you can use delay and loop at the same time. That's all I wished for with the original Canyon.
Amazing playing and demonstration; thanks! It seems like an almost perfect pedal - is it possible to have only the repeats bitcrushed and retain a pure original signal?
@@victoralejandrorodriguezki2294 yes, I know they're good and all, so you're right I should try all their fuzz boxes because of the EHX heritage, thanks
The pedal that's guaranteed to make you sound like Steve Lukather, SRV, Steve Vai, Allan Holdsworth, Mike McCready, Steve Hacket, Keith Richards, George Harrison, TAFKAP, Mark Knopfler, David Gilmour, EvH, Carl Wilson, Andy Summers, Ritchie Blackmore, Hank B. Marvin, George Benson, Eric Clapton, Robert Fripp, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Adrian Belew, Frank Zappa , Dick Dale, Al Di Meola, Steve Howe, John McLaughlin, Alvin Lee, Brian May, Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Pete Townshend, Carlos Santana and a host of others - but only if your name happens to be Bill Ruppert.
How can you do this to me? I thought we were friends. I went right out and got the Canyon when you told me... ANYWHO: Another Killer Video. Pretty good as a guitar instructional video. Did you do the Fripp school. SO NOW WHAT DO I DO? I have a couple hundred other EHX pedals on the list and my girl is on the lookout for any more gear being brought into the house. Can't start buying multiple versions of each pedal before I have one of each. ALSO: Brilliant with the Gilmour/Fripp thing. Impossible to look away (or listen away, really MORE VIDS PLZ
Excellent demonstration video - just like all the ones you’ve done in the past for EHX. I am adding this pedal to my want list right now! Enjoyed hearing Frame by Frame as well - good work!!!
I could listen to these dreamy Bill Ruppert tracks all day. Don't suppose you have any TAB notation for what you play as your arrangements sound great and inspire me to take the plunge and have go myself.
EHX keeps moving the goal line. I have the Canyon Delay. Now this....totally.....groovy,groovy,groovy, groovy......more groovies would mean adjusting the repeats.FYI.
