People don't realize that on most vintage type amp, the eq isn't active: if you want it to be flat, you need to crank the knob all the way up, and to adjust it, roll back the frequency you want to reduce. If you just assume that to have it slightly up, you need to put the knob at say 1 o'clock, you're not getting all the tone. And it makes a big difference on those kind of amp (although I admit it may not be that obvious on a youtube video). Oh, and those are killer amps ^^
I've got an original MiG50. I run it through my early 90s Fender Blues DeVille 4x10 cabinet. It sounds like a friggin' piano. I replaced the original, crappy pots, but everything else is stock and seems to be holding up well. Love it! I will never part with this amp. This reissue sounds good, but not as good as mine. 😉
Excellent demo and even better playing. Those Vintage brand guitars are nothing to ignore. They have accurate looks and sound. I also was unaware that Electro Harmonix made heads.
@@mooshimanx They sound like the sweet, sweet crushed bitrate of algorithmic compression through a mic barely capable of recording natural human speech. God bless America.
Jesus fucking Christ, why does every video on RU-vid who's demoing a piece of musical equipment always play the same generic blues riffs? Play some fucking punk music or something else once in a while. Play a 16th note down stroke progression with a 160+ tempo. Not everyone who plays guitar plays lame ass Led Zeppelin crap.
I've owned three YBA-1s and at least three Mig 50s (which is what this amp in this review is) Both are JTM/45/Bassman style circuits and both re equally good.
Why are all these RU-vid demos about some narcissistic dude noodling instead of the demo? OK, here ya go. Man, you are the best guitarist I have EVER heard! Why aren't you playing in arenas and packing them in? I am going to vote for you in all the guitar polls as the BEST fucking guitarist in the world!!!!! Really, I mean it.
Why are you on every one of the EHX MIG50 videos bashing the demos? Buy the amp, make your superior demo, and then let us all know how it should be done. But most importantly, grow up.
You need a good "tech guy" to install an "effects loop" in this head, there is none. He said it would be $250....I don't think it's worth it, but you decide.
