best explanation Steve. You are the best at explaining how to use pedals. Demos are the most useful by far

Awesome demo. From every video I’ve seen, this blows away Digitech’s Drop as a detuner and does so much more with practically zero latency for guitar and bass. No more waiting, I’m picking one up today!

Great video Steve, thank you. Appreciate you going through the features in the format you did. I have been using a Whammy for years on a few songs, but do not always need the pedal feature. Just order the Pitch Fork, looking forward to saving some space and weight on my board for gigging.

thank you sir. if i switch the dual down and change the pitch, could it be a reverse capo? lets say i play A, then the effect signal will be G#?

Well explained young man, not "all talk and no action" like some of the Guitarists that only wan't to listen to themselves, you've convinced me.

Great breakdown, thanks, Steve! Also love the PRS C24. I have a C22 semi hollow which I love. As you already noted, this thing requires your basic tuning to be spot on, and I expect folks getting poor results have issues there. I've mainly been using mine to fake a "12 string shimmer" in dual mode on my electro-acoustic. Going to take a hard look at the Drop pedal for half-step-down tuning stuff, though, as I hear you prefer that one for down-only tuning stuff. Thanks again!

For a special effect this could be useful but for transparent detuning, it changes the tone too much and adds an unpleasant aliasing artefact. The Digitech Drop offers much less in the way of effects and flexibility but its detuning is rock solid with no appreciable changes to the tone - it basically sounds like you've physically detuned your guitar, where the Pitchfork sounds like an effect.

The comment I was looking for. Thanks for this comparison. Sounds like I want the Drop.

easy way... digitech drop: better for clean (more natural tone and tracking) pitchfork: better for distortion (dont suck your volume like digitech drop)

lovely PRS Steve. I'm a little jelly. :) Would consider it but I'm a big guy and it would look like a mandolin on me.

When you say "track" or "tracking ability" etc. does that have something to do with the response time?

The only way to get a +/- minor 3rd tuning is to use the expression pedal.

are there pedals that allow you to set up custom tunings? Like say a drop D tuning, where only the low E string is tuned down? maybe something that allows you to do each individual string, for maybe DADGAD tuning for instance?
@responsesMTL
@responsesMTL 4 года назад
There are some guitars with built-in synth engines that allows you apply a preset for each individual string. I know Godin makes a guitar like that. But pedals, I don't know yet. it would be really hard to make as a pedal since all the pedal see is a bunch of frequencies coming in. I don't think there's a way to tell the pedal "this frequency comes from that string so shift it that way for that tuning" as far as I know.. I might be wrong!

Am I crazy or does it get a bit quieter when you're playing fast, or complicated chords?

To my ears, when the effect is on, it sounds further away.

Hi Steve- how do you feel the pitch up to standard would be with the pedal if your guitar is tuned half step down? I play mostly half down but could maybe use this to move to standard. I’d also get to keep the slinkyness on my strings vs tuning standard and moving downward. Any thoughts or exp? Thanks for EVERYTHING you do!!

Thank Steeve this is a really interesting post. I have a question tho. I'm a beginner and I'm wondering how to translate M2 to drop C, Drop B etc. Is their a chart that do the translation. Thanks and BTW that PRS is gorgeous.

But can it go 1, 2 and 3 octaves Higher?
@drile00l80
@drile00l80 7 лет назад
I cringe thinking about an octave pedal playing 2 octaves higher, but 3? Ugh, an ice pick to the ear drum would feel/sound better.

OH! It's an effect! Pedals seem so complicated. I guess I'll focus on learning to play the actual guitar and worry about the special effects later. Maybe.
