Restoration calls for all kinds of unique and interesting processes to duplicate or restor a part to original condition. In this video, we show a process called electroforming which is a derivative of electro plating. Making a metal part from a wax casting without, molten metal, forms, or an heat of any kind. Simply using the electroplating process to build a metal skin on a wax piece and essentially “growing” a part in a tank. We hope that you enjoy this video, please comment below!

How come you guys only have 780 subscribers? This is solid quality content. You should check if you're doing something incorrectly about publishing the videos. By this time, even just by showing up in the related videos, you should have already have considerably more subscribers.

you dont need to solder your connection you can just wrap the wire and it will be a good enough connection also if you reverse your mold so it grows outside in get full detail

Hey! I am working a lot with electroforming. I see u soldered anodes- dont do it with lead or whatever. it kills electrolyte very fast. Use screw contacts to it.

Jason Welsh has some really good videos on electroplating and electropolishing if this is something that interest you.

I am just starting out with electroforming, and have found videos by Jason Welsh to be very helpful. I have not worked with organics yet, but I've seen some titles for his vids that mention it. I know he sells formulas and techniques on his website, so he may not reveal everything on his channel, but I have managed to have other sources fill in the blanks. Good luck! ru-vid.com

At a guess, this could be used to restore diecast? sealing the pot metal from the atmosphere might prevent bubbling from coming back on hard to find pieces. I have worked for an alleged high end resto shop in the past, but your operation makes the other place look like a glorified rust repair shop.

This is called electro-plating. You aren't forming anything, just plating it in a copper layer. This is pretty old tech.

This actually is electroforming rather than electroplating, though both are forms of electrodeposition. "So if both processes are done by means of electrodeposition, what is the main difference between the two? In electroplating, the deposited metal becomes part of the existing product by plating/coating it. In electroforming, the mandrel (patterned surface) will be removed from the product."
