How to open up an Electrolux Dryer, remove the drum, and replace the blower fan. Be sure to unplug the dryer before opening anything up! Tools needed: Phillips Screwdriver Vice grips / Channel Locks 1 1/8" Socket
Thank you for this! You saved me a couple hundred dollars in labor. Turned out my blower motor was completely full of lint. After clearing it my dryer sounds like new!
This video really helped me. The dryer was making a loud noise almost like a vibration. I unhooked the drive belt from the drum and the noise was still there. By following the video, I was able to clean a LOT of lint from inside the blower wheel and it is as quiet as new. Thank you !!
This seems to be a known issue on this brand but I appreciate that the fix is very easy. Just did mine a few days ago and it's a noticeable difference after cleaning the blower wheel! I can deal with cleaning this up every year if it's this straight forward to fix :)
@@DoubleD_93they’ve fixed this issue in newer models by installing a “clamshell” lint screen and there’s a retrofit “hack” I’m going to try to help prevent this issue in the future!
This video saved me a ton of time! Would not have known about the socket size or the "righty loosey" to get the fan wheel off. Also, same as you I had to remove the whole motor assembly and clamp the pulley in a vice to get the original fan off. I little Wd-40 really helped. Something else to note - the vibration when it was full of lint must have broken one of the spring metal clamps that holds the motor in it's cradle, had to order one but at lerast I noticed it while I had the dryer apart. Thanks!
Awesome video, thanks. Went from crazy banging sounds to once again quiet. I didn't have to replace blower fan, but it certainly needed a thorough cleaning. 40mins later I'm in the good books!!
I don't remember anything special about it, sorry! I'd just say it probably has a retaining clip that you need to release. Otherwise, maybe the connector has gotten hot and maybe needs to be pryed apart? I'm definitely not an expert on that, so please proceed with caution!
@@ericster2007 thanks got lucky used flathead Maybe found retainer clip now going to put it back together following your video we had a sock caught in blower fan . All the best to you
