I have owned the UltraFlex few years now and it still works like day I bought it. I absolutely love it. Quiet,very good suction and most importantly good airflow (for a bagless vacuum). I have Kirby airflow meter and this thing pulls impressive 4,5 out of ten. Why it's impressive? My European model UltraFlex only has 7 amp motor and it still pulls more air than the typical Dyson canister. Dyson pulls maximum at 3. Powerhead performs very well and there is no comparison to the air driven nozzle. My negatives are the small bin and the pre motor filter need washing quite often. Overall I would totally recommend this vacuum.

This unit is very portable, has an ergonomic handle and a long hose so you will have no trouble getting hard to reach spots or using it in cramped or confined spaces like a car. The vac is lightweight and has a great streamlined shape that makes it very easy to store away. It is not bulky and awkward like a lot of shop vacs tend to be. Emptying the contents is quick and easy with the two side latches and the holding capacity is decent. The vacuum will run for a relatively long time on a regular 20v and having the option of plugging it in is absolutely a game changer. You have the best of both worlds with this tool and you will find yourself using it more often than expected because of how practical and to be honest FUN it is to use. The only "complaint" I have with this vacuum is that it feels a little bit underpowered in terms of suction and this is whether its running on cord power or battery. I feel like it could have had a little more oumph but oh well. All in all i am very satisfied in this tool and have found yet another reason to invest in Electrolux products.*
Thanks for this review! Couldn't find a picture anywhere of the bare floor nozzle which is important to me, so thanks for that. Question: Would it make sense to add felt pads underneath the bare floor nozzle so the plastic wheels wouldn't touch the hard wood floor and therefore prevent scratches? Would the suction still be good?
Is it still holding strong? I've been a firm believer in Electrolux vacuums even aerus who make the old canister styles still. You can also check evacuumstore.com for parts and such for this. Awesome video
You will love this vacuum for about 4-5 months then it will inevitably breakdown. First the ratchet mechanics that keep the arm locked up or released will break, that is a guarantee. It’s a poor design and the plastic will break on the cog that holds the arm in place as it is not strong enough to hold it. You can’t fix this problem as it’s a simple design flaw but the vacuum will still work. After a while the powerhead will start loosing power randomly turning itself on and off again but only when trying to move across carpet creating resistance on the motor. Oddly enough, this can be fixed by taking the powerhead apart, 4 screws on the bottom then push in the small tabs by the release/height levers. Then separate the top from the base. I took mine down to the circuit board, remove the power wires as they clip into the board. Clean the board and connectors with deoxit then push back on to the power clips. There are two places to do this, on the path to the motor and on the main power coming to the board. One of those plugs will be loose, guaranteed. Either tighten or permanent soldering will resolve the issue. Another bad design flaw. Put it all back together and cross your fingers. I have repaired three vacuums with the exact same issue. When looking for replacement parts, you will find there are few if any available. Look under the paragon model as some parts are interchangeable. If ever using your warranty, you will be required to ship the entire vacuum in the original box with proof of purchase.
