The update has split the community but hopefully the devs can resolve the issues and make it a fun game to play again.

@@axialivanov6101 my opinion for the people who don't wanna handle ventillation is that the devs should make a system where you use oxygen when your in space but not on earth. Since literally every closed volume (inside a bunker, ship, submarine, house, etc) will need good ventillation

Well, looks like the devs forgot that as a general rule, 1L of liquid should give you a total of about 800L of gas at 1atm pressure...

fun fact: submarines like the american Los Angeles class submarine creates their air like that. They have water reactors that shock water with electricity to split the atoms.

Most submarines use electrolysers to produce air, usally they vent out the hydrogen as a biproduct due to not being needed onboard, but the bad thing is that it uses a lot of electricity

Useless in the base game sadly, but i hope the devs add a fuel cell to get some the propulsion System complete ( ecept sails the are Not easy to code)

It would be nice if we could do it the other way. Connect hydrogen and oxygen to generate elecricity (and water) like in toyota mirai.

My problems with the game now aren't even "oh no bugs" it's just too much work to make anything functional now. Gases, pressure, constant neutering of engines, blow your eardrums out from engine sounds.

You may still need the pumps to fill the tanks completely because of the pressure. Have you found a way to filter out CO2 from the air? I was able to split nitrogen and the remaining air with a centrifugal separator, but was not able to further split oxygen and CO2 yet. This would be required for long running stations. Otherwise you would need to release air into space and replace partially with oxygen which is a huge waste.

good point with the last bit of gases. have you tried to use catalitic converters to remove the co2? i think the game sees co2 as exhaust now.

co2 isn't a gas in the game

@@axialivanov6101 CO2 is Carbon Dioxide which is now in the game. You can't spawn a tank full of it though but it is part of the normal air.

@@ProfNCognito I have tried catalytic converters but haven't observed any conversion to other gases or a reduction of CO2, even with a stack of 5+ converters and a circular air loop. Edit: there seem to be some losses, but for all gases equally. Meaning it's the same as just releasing it but more expensive.

Co2 is in the game but it doesn't do any actual damage to the player for some reason. Im pretty sure they calimed that you could die from too much co2 but it doesn't like like you can so filtering isnt something you need to worry about

I just got stormworks a few months ago, and I am not great at the game, but I love this new update, it brings so much to the game, but I think people would appreciate it you could toggle the new fluid mechanics in your world settings. This would make the old creations that didn’t build with these new mechanics in mind work as they used to.

In real life though I believe you use salt water? Or at least some kind of electrolyte mixed in. I maybe wrong lol.

You do NOT want to use salt water in real life. Electrolyzing salt water creates Chlorine gas instead of Oxygen. As for electrolytes, you would use a base that does not get electrolized, like KOH.

Question, im building a sub here, can we just vent out that pure oxigen to breath? Or we need to mix it with something? Breathing pure oxygen is not going to be fun thing to do💀

for my testing I got ~292L of oxygen and Hydrogen each from 1122L of water. So 52% of the water got converted evenly to Hydrogen and oxygen.

Can you not build a structure to go into the starter base that pumps and desalenates before it goes into separate tanks for refueling, then you can transfer with cargo tanks or something of the like?
