A videóban rovar tetem, hangos sziréna található, mindenki ennek ismeretében nézze vagy ne nézze meg. A videó készítése során állatoknak nem esett baja (kivéve a mumifikálódott cserebogárnak).
Nem az évszázad üzleteként jutottam hozzá egy ilyen régebbi hangsugárzóhoz (szirénához). 4 ohmos modell, tehát nem a videón látható Elektris vezérlőhöz tartozik, hanem az Armcom vezérlőihez (amiből van egy itthon...döglött PIC-kel), de valamivel ki kellett próbálni, ezért szorultam rá erre a rendkívül igényes előtét ellenállásra, ami látható (igazából elég nehéz 50-60W-os, 10 ohm alatti ellenállást találni, bár ettől még elég unortodox látvány).
Az állapota, hogy is mondjam, elég viseltes volt. Kiszívta a nap, össze-vissza volt vagdosva a tölcsére, még valami nagyobb mélyedés is volt rajta. De legalább működött.
A tölcsér girbe-gurba peremét szintbe köszörültem (ha már hiányos, legalább egyenes legyen), kikitteltem a sérüléseit, összeragasztottam a repedést rajta. Mivel emiatt úgy is festeni kellett volna az amúgy nem festett tölcsért, újrafestettem az összes elemet a jól megszokott megfolyós módon. A 10 centis vezeték foszlányt lecseréltem 4,5 méter új kábelre, illetve a hiányzó rögzítés helyére (ami ránézésre letört) csináltam alumíniumból egy újat, igaz ez nem látszik a videón (ez egy fokkal egyszerűbb megoldásnak tűnt, mint egy teljesen új fémlapot kihajtogatni meg kivágni).
A végeredmény az előtte állapothoz képest egészen jó, nem mondom hogy OT rendőrautó minőség (nagyon messze van attól), de azért szódával elmegy. A távolság jól áll neki azért.

Due to a not-so-great deal I got myself an old load speaker (siren). It's got a 4 ohm impedance so it's not intended to use with such an Elektris controller (which is BTW a German export model), more like with an Armcom controller (which I also have...with a dead PIC), that's the reason for that cheasy resistor in series (actually it's pretty hard to find a 50-60W less than 10 ohm resistor, though it looks kinda stupid).
It's condition was...let's say not good. It got "sunburnt" (rought due to the UV light over the years), cut and so on. But hey, at least it worked.
I cut the cone straigth, sealed the hollows, glued the crack. Since I had to paint the originally not painted cone itself, I painted it with the well-proven technique I often use - paint till the paint drips... I exchanged the short cable with a new 4,5m one, also made a new fastening piece since the original metal plate is broken (though this one is not visible in the video).
The end result is pretty good compared to the old version. Sure I would not use it on a qualified vintage police car, but at least it's shiny. You should definately not look it close up though.
