I've watched this video 3 times so far. I have it memorized. I know every growl. I think I'm even a little better at making drums on the Syntakt. One of my favorite videos ever.
This is amazing!!! Thanks for sharing. I struggle with making the syntakt sound more “crazy” and this video was really inspiring. Keep them coming please !!! 🙏❤️
9:50 : when on any pattern, you can use func+record to copy the pattern, then switch to the pattern you want to paste it on and use func+stop to paste the pattern. this way you won't have to wait for the few seconds to paste! :) appreciate your videos
I love the zeal in, "let's change thaat - to AAN EFFFF EEMMMMMM". I donno why thats so funny but it just is. And thanks for demoing an extremely grubby rhythm. Learned a lot. thanks.
Boom! I like your visuals and the style - but I love the tips behind; you just showed me, that obviously I tend to overthink too much when creating. Thanks
Ive been trapped inside a daw ever since my mum broke my mc505, just purchased a sp404mk2 and Sherman filterbank 2 because I’ve wanted one since I was a teenager, and keep coming back to your channel for elektron gear but confused which one, please help me escape the daw matrix
hmm. With an SP404 and a sherman, I am tempted to recommend Syntakt. 404 can sample syntakt sounds then you could set things up in a way that maybe 404 is processed by the sherman and then processed in the Syntakt through the FX block. It really depends on your goals though. Just remember that they are all really powerful and really interesting in their own way and they all have the sequencer which is what really matters with them. So you can't really make a wrong decision as long as you know you really want an elektron!
@@userfriendlysounds thanks for your reply, I love your content so refreshing to see I’m trying to chop up dark amen breaks, then make wubs, Reese’s, and horns roller type dnb, neuro jungle really.
@@userfriendlysounds well a synth really for fat Reese’s I use phaseplant and serum with Bitwig but want to go dawless as my job is stuck behind computer screens plus when I was a teenager i was mad on kit, the small form factor of the syntakt and the 3 analog channels appeal to me. Eventually want to perform with it. I will get a sequential pro 3(not to gig with) down the line but syntakt looks like it plugs a lot of holes I was also looking at AF MK2 but form factor puts me off a bit.
@@anyme3046 yeah sounds like syntakt would be a good fit than. A4 is def really big. Also, I the sound design on A4 is a bit more demanding IMO. You really have to work with it to get sounds more interesting than basic traditional synth sounds. But it can go REALLY deep. Overall though, I'd say syntakt is a better fit. Layering the SY Tone with a big analog osc can make a MASSIVE bass
you sounds like the singer would from the band "prizehog" inbewteeen songs when hed try talking to the crowd... maybe thats why i have no problem understmding you... is this the best elektron for creating drum sounds from scratch?
@@userfriendlysounds does it have gnar distortion? does it have more than 16 voice polyphony? can you sequence at least 64 different bars in a song mode? can you save at least 128 sequenced bars on the machine?... if so, then I'll watch some more videos, but I think if I find a syntrukt for $850 today, I'm gonna hafta buy it, right? if you wanna just answer my questions in a series of yes and no's, id be SO grateful.
@@totalSLACK No it's a four voice analog. so max is four voice poly. You can sequence a whole lot more than that. Yes you have 8 banks of 16 patterns that can be up to 64 steps long. 850 is a solid price for a syntakt. Syntakt is easier and faster than A4. But A4 is a better True Synthesizer IMO. It really just depends on your goals and work flow.
Yeah, the fx block is a huge thing right off the bat. Syntakt is an incredible little midi sequencer. Not even close to octatrack, and not nearly as good as the other takts, but perfectly usable. Analogs are not great for that. Syntakt is largely faster than rytm, but rytm will always have my heart in the end
I don’t have a syntakt. I will copy exactly what you did here with every knob on my Digitakt and see what happens. I mean it’s basically the same thing right?
