There are only 9 players in the NBA and WNBA who have recorded a 50-40-90 season, Delle Donne is the only WBNA player in this group. Not only does she play from the heart, she has a big heart. Kudos to her for following the path that was right for her.
she's a real person, with a huge heart, obviously a rock solid family upbringing and she knows what's important. her sister lizzie is not guaranteed a long life. elena did the right thing. she's such a good person and has such great skills i may watch some WNBA games or at least some chicago sky games. i've forsaken pro and even college ball fandom in recent years because the low quality of the play and people in the sport. this elena gives me hope
As someone who was born with Cerebral Palsy and born and raised in Delaware, this video really touched me. It's a really good feeling to know they're people out there who see us as people, not just a dollar sign, or people to take advantage of.
Im really inspired to hear Elena Delle Donne's story. Basketball is not the only thing, the solo thing that matters to her. She loves other things, people in life and has a balance.
She could easily be a model, she is so stunning but she is so down to earth and with so much caring in her heart , she turns away from the glamorous life, and just as important, she is one of the best players in the women's game . A top box office attraction.
And look at her now gold medal, WNBA MVP, wow she really was meant to be one of the greatest female basketball players off all times, but like everyone is saying her game could be better only if she accepted to play over seas, but she is still amazing!!
What a beauty and what a remarkable woman. I hope she can find the courage to get over her feelings of home sickness because in the WNBA she is going to be a HUGE star. I love how close she is to her family. This world needs more people like her. She is beauty inside and out. I hope she gets everything that she needs and wants from life.
Wow...she is just inspirational. Amazing courage and demonstration of how strong of a woman she is by sticking with her family and knowing whats best for her.
Can not say just how much I love your heart* I am a 'Die hard' Storm fan and had the pleasure of watching you compete... None of that matters anywhere near what you represent to our world! GOD Bless you! ... Love Jay E Van Camp
2 things come to mind. Larry Bird leaving Indiana and an interview i saw yrs ago. Wish i remembered his name and the details. In the interview ( i think he was a running back for USC, maybe not) he was asked about the college draft, he responded by saying he was going to med school, cure cancer and win the Noble Peace Prize.
After seeing this, who in their right mind could possibly find fault with this girl and the decisions she has come to make? What an outstanding human being! God Bless this fine young lady!
What a BEAUTIFUL CARING SISTER!!! Family First! I have always liked Elena Delle Donne! Now I have a better perspective of the loving and caring person, and character she has! This should be made into a movie. She made the right CHOICE! Now today she's so happy and on her way to being a LEGEND of the game! May God continue to bless her!🙏
i was devastated as a uconn fan when i found out she had left us in the beginning of the season. but once all the dust had settled and i'd learned more about her reasons, i couldn't help but be inspired. truly an amazing story about an amazing person. i have nothing but respect for delle donne.
Best of luck to her. Coming from a UConn fan, it's unfortunate that we couldn't see Geno coach this girl into a superstar and a few national championships. It takes quite a person to choose family over every basketball kid's dream of winning national championships with a high profile team. Elena is a special person and I hope that she's is able to have a successful basketball career while staying close with her family.
idk how anybody can call her crazy...she missed her sister so she left behind previous dreams just to be by her side n love her.....shes not crazy shes a unselfish angel
God bless you for going and doing what you feel deep in your heart if that's what you want do you want to be home you want to play for whoever you want to play for that is your prerogative and be damned anybody else and I admire you for that I respect you for that you do what you want to do sweetheart and you keep doing you and be damn about anybody else and God bless you
As a fellow basketball player, being in the same conference as Delaware, she has my total respect. It's hard to follow your heart when you have so many others in your ear
Some people just don't get it that people need to do themselves and that's what is important. At least she had the courage to take all the scrutiny and follow her heart. Some people wouldn't have the courage to do what she did. Good for her!
Elena Delle Donne is an extraordinary person for that, I hope she continues to have happiness and I wish her the very best as she transitions to the WNBA
Elena has the right stuff. I was moved by her compassion - in particular, her devotion to her sister. Good luck in the NCAA tournament. She knows what is important at an early age: That alone puts her head and shoulders above most people.
I'm so happy to see her breakthrough year in the WNBA. Maybe she can shut all the critics up once and for all and end up back on the US women's team where she belongs. She's the best women's basketball player in the world right now and she did it her way taking care of her loved ones without kowtowing to the UConn machine.
OUTSTANDING!!! SHE MADE AN ADULT DECISION AND DIDNT PLAY COPY CAT....BLAZE YOUR OWN TRAIL.. ALL THESE GIRLS WANT TO GO TO UCONN, STANFORD AND TENN....GREAT JOB YOUNG LADY GREAT JOB FUTURE OLYMPIAN!
