Thanks! This is actually just the original track, I don't think a no-audio track is available anywhere. I eq'd out as much bass as I could from the track, this is probably as close as you'll be able to get.

I use my right palm to mute the lower strings that I don't play, and my left hand for the upper strings. If you're talking about the strings you're actually playing on, you'll get less noise if you play apply less force to your pull-offs (you actually don't need to press the strings down really hard while tapping once you get more accurate). You could also try pulling off downwards vs upwards (I found downwards more comfortable personnally, though both should work). Let me know if I got your question correctly.

1. You need to use your left hand to mute (while you're tapping with your left hand on the A string, you can mute the D and G string with your tapping finger at the same time). 2. I pull off downwards but you can also do it upwards if it's more natural for you. What works for me is to give the string a little pull before releasing it, almost as if you wanted to pluck it. The pull-off should ring without tapping a note beforehand if you do it right. Try to copy what happens when you do a "regular" pull-off with your left hand. Tell me if this helps, this is pretty hard to explain with text only.
