That's a male and a female. Males are quite large compared to the females and males are the only ones that have that big nose. He's actually trying to mate with her.

Actually, pups are what the young of pinnipeds of the families Phocidae (Seals) and Otariidae (Sea Lions and Fur Seals) are called, while the young of pinnipeds of the families Cystophoridae (Hooded Seal and Elephant Seals) and Odobenidae (Walrus and Fossil Relatives) are called calves.
That is a female who is being held for mating not affecfion. He was latched by his teeth to her face pinching down to hold her in one place till she relented and mounted later after she has given up.
So much projection in these posts... Plenty of videos on YT show that the females only mate when they are ready to do it and only when they want it. There's not such thing as "rape" among seals.

I guess that individual could still be a Pup? If so it's an older Pup. Male Elephant Seals are known for being gentle/kind to the babies. And I'm a Ma'am by the way. :)
In that other video that's actually a young adolescent-adult Bull (male) being aggressive to a very young Pup. That is strange behavior for Elephant Seals, as most Bulls are quite gentle towards Pups. I'm thinking he's just young & dumb. Because the older Bulls are wining he's taking his frustration out on a helpless Pup, that's been separated from its Mother. I know Cows (females) can be aggressive towards Pups, but you can see that's a male due to the extra scared skin, on its throat.
May be you are right ? In my first i indeed mentioned as a male but some expert wrote me that this is not male but female, so i changed to female sea elephant. I don't think I will do anything now. I'm thinking it's male because females don't have that shield of extra thick skin, on their throat. And it's already scared from fighting, so I think that's a young adult male. He's probably bullied by the older more experienced males, so he's taking it out on a helpless pup. Hopefully this is behavior he will out grow as he matures.
