Looks really nice. This has been on my to-do list now for several years. I never considered there was a different way to get the height other than building the first floor into the framework of the structure. Cool approach.
Great series, excellent job in breaking it down in manageable steps. As you sit there this fall/winter you will probably smile a little and nod your head and whisper to yourself, yea this was worth it. As for the heater the Mr Heater works great. From my experience running it off a 20lb tank makes it less noisy than a 1lb cylinder ( perhaps the added pressure who knows.). Looking forward to the hunting videos.👍
Ive got little buddy heaters in my Shadow Hunter blinds. No hissing sound that ive noticed. I hunt late season in Wisconsin and use them a lot! Only thing i dont like about them is they make a loud click when you press igniter!
For heating idea: Get a deep cell battery, put some solar chargers on top. Make a small tile box. Install 12v halogen bulbs into the box. Place the box in a an area to direct light so it doesn't bother you. (You could also vent in a way that deflects light) there you go. quiet and somewhat efficient.
If you got that nice of a stand done for $1000-$1200, you did very well. There is a shed place around here that sells “kits” that aren’t this nice and till you buy the blind + 10’ stand + stairs, you’re around $1800. And it’s not built as nicely as yours! As for the heater, I got a little propane heater from Cabelas called a Quiet Blind heater/cooker. Somehow, it’s extra quiet, more so than my regular Mr. Buddy and still offers plenty of heat and ability to cook on.
Honestly, I don't think I would change a thing and I feel the build is solid. I do need to add a sweep to the door to keep mice out, and It could also use some shelving in the overhead to stow gear. but other than that, it held up to the worst opening day storm I could imagine. Thanks for watching
