I think that if we give this company another year, they’ll be the best in text to speech technology. Honestly, as a screen reader user, they already are the best for me, but to get true emotion and such that takes time. I don’t know if TTS will ever be able to truly convey emotion like a human, simply because humans can read a piece of text then speak that emotion, whereas a TTS will not be able to do that on the fly.

The English word “Behold” conveys excitement and awe, but the German translation “siehe” chosen by the Eleven Labs AI loses *all* of that meaning. It is about as exciting as a grocery store receipt or a tax declaration.
@@MariaGuedes2022 behold: see or observe (someone or something, especially of remarkable or impressive nature). Siehe (german): see, refer to. generally used to refer to another text in a written work. sounds rather formal and dry.
Correct German grammar would be “dieses prächtige blaue Juwel”. Eleven labs used the masculine pronoun which is incorrect. Pick *proper translations* for showcasing your product. 🤷♂️
