We give you some tips and tricks from Pete Dylewski and Billy Griggs on how to install the Elevn Racing Disc Brake kit for the Chase BMX ACT 1.0 frame and the RSP 4.0 frames.
The Disc kit features a 120mm Disc Rotor, one of the smallest sizes offered for a BMX frame today, along with a custom CNC'd Disc Brake mount. The ACT kit is offered for both 20mm and 10mm rear axles, while the RSP 4.0 kit comes in a 10mm version only. Both kits include a custom looking bolt set up for once you remove your V Brake mounts, as well as the bolts for the disc rotor itself. You will need to have a Disc brake, a Disc compatible rear hub, and a RSP 4 or ACT 1.0 frame.
This video is to show you some installation tips and suggestions from Pete and Billy, but if you are not 100% sure about doing the installation yourself and have never mounted an disc brake on a bike before, we recommend that you have your local bike shop install this for you. There are many factors for the proper way to install this, and our guideline and suggestion are just to show you how we have done it. With different types of brake and hubs, there are many variables and you need to make sure its 100% correct before riding. We show this system on a Chase BMX frame, which the system was designed to work with. While it may work with other frame brands, you will need to contact your frame manufacturer to see if their frames were designed to use disc brake and if this mount will work with your frame.
