Elgato Gaming Chat Link - Introduction and Overview 

Back in my day Xbox 360 did this without cables!

I love the way Elgato have support for people who have the older capture cards and people with not very good PC's. Not many companies do that unfortunately.

Ok so this will record all sources of audio beside my own and ill have to go by a second microphone and plug it into my pc to record my voice correct?

i'm getting a buzzing sound as soon as i plug it into the line in on my computer. any suggestions on a fix?

I have the original Elgato HD, where can I get a 3.5mm RCA to Y cable? and i'll also need the component adapter for it?

I have done everything in this video I have the first Elgato, not the hd60 the once where u need the female adapter and I connected all that together and put it on analog and it doesnt let me hear anything i can hear from my headset once i turn off the anolog audio but then it doesnt pick up in recording i cant get it to show any sign of sound when im recording/ streaming on anolog or hdmi someone please help!!!!!!!

Just a heads up to anyone who hasn't had experience with analog audio before, it is the exact audio you hear for your headset that is being recorded. So if you have the Xbox One chat adapter and you turn up chat volume and lower game volume, that same effect will happen to your Elgato recording in real time. Also this means if you are to unplug your headset from your controller with analog audio put on, your recording will NOT have audio in it. I learned that the hard way...

But how would you be able to use this while using a wireless headset? (I have the Turtle Beach Stealth 700)

is it possible to use any 3.5 splitter?? not just this elgato one cause what if i already have a 3.5 siltter like this one? thank you

This is just a big facepalm, you switch ALL sound input to analog, so you will NOT have game audio, you will only hear your party chat, and see your gameplay. Now we need both. And now I hear you saying, plug it in the PC instead, No - Because the Elgato recording program only allows you to use ONE microphone, so I can't record my commentary mic and the party chat line-in at the same time. This is really anoying. Voicemeeter is not a solution since there is a delay in output sound.

Hi ! I have a question.. When i plug my headset to the Female cable , i can hear everything , but i can't talk to my friends at party chat. It as if my mic is muted , but its not. Does anyone knows the solution to this ? I'm using HyperX Cloud 2 btw as my headset.

Why cant you guys make these come standard with the HD60 now? I know its a relatively new product, but at least a bundle option on amazon would be nice. Bought mine yesterday and just know started to use it to learn i need this cable. now I have to wait until after the holidays, or whenever they go back in stock, to record.

Dear ELGATO. I have a question - do I need this astro mixer to set everything up properly? Like for example if I want connect SteelSeries Siberia 200/650 to PS4 do I need that mixer or not? I'm a bit confused... I have an Elgato GC HD and all of the cables that are required on this vid (except of course gaming chat link).

My software doesn't pick up any game audio when I plug the chat link cable into my controller... even after switching to analog audio. It only picks up game audio when I disconnect my headset from my controller (I'm using a universal Tritton Kunai headset on PS4). Is there something I'm missing?

I'm clearing this up for everyone this product makes it to where the party audio that comes out of your controller like party chat it will pick it up if you want it to here you you plug your headset with microphone into the female part of the cable and the other male goes into your controller and the last male goes into your Elgato it makes life a lot easier unless you want to buy 5 different cables to make this work Thank you Elgato for this :)

Will this record game sound and voice because without it my doesn't record any sound unless the sound comes threw

I’m having an issue with my 4k60s+ when I use a chat link cable and have it set to analog the game audio itself sounds distorted on the recording to add card and I can’t figure out why. I’ve watched so many videos with no solution any suggestions would be much appreciated

i have a capture card that is not an elgato because an elgato simply is not in my budget range i got an agptek hd game capture card and it has pretty much the same ports an elgato would have except the card is alot cheaper so i was wondering if i would be able to use this elgato chat link cable on that capture card or is it strictly for elgatos only

Does this work with beats by dre as I use them as a headset and can you hear your own voice when you playback your gameplay?

Will this allow me to hear all xbox sounds and pc sounds at the same time through the headset? That way I can hear my xbox and my stream alerts at the same time.

So before I buy this I have a question. I believe I heard you say that it hears the game and party chat but the users voice is heard through the computer mic? Would that mean I could sit in my chair, talk to my friends and play games, and have the razer seiren next to me so my voice quality is good? For the viewers anyway. Would still be the same mic quality my friends hear in the party if I am correct. I am on Xbox one if that helps in some way.

This is great but what if I have the Elite 800x headphones where I don't use the headphone jack at all? Can this still be done?

i used to use this with my ps4 Gold headset and it worked beautifully. the Astro A40 has an AUX chord as well but it would sound terrible without a mixamp and i wasnt sure if theres an aux on the mixamp plus im aiming for a more wireless headset. As a result I bought the astro a50. the only issue is that the elgato captures everything while using my headset and the chat link but i cannot talk to my friends. In order to do so i need a usb mic for my ps4. is there another solution instead for wireless headsets?

But I have one problem, the ending of the video confused me. You mentioned old versions of the elgato after talking about the hd60 and left off by saying finally that you need another mic connected to the PC so your voice is heard...were you talking about the HD60 too or the old one mentioned lastly? So my question is...Can your voice and party chat be heard if directly connected to the HD60 S using auxillary from This Chat Cable?

I still got the elgato hd when I switch it to analog audio there's a buzzing sound and its my rca y cable thats causing it from an old turtle beach headset whats a good rca y cable to use to get rid of the buzzing sound and I use and astro 2013 a40 mix amp plug to plug the chat link into please replay back ASP

If I buy this will my headphones get audio from my PlayStation and the elgotocwill still record audio? Cause I can only have the elgoto ether get game audio and my headphones don't work for the console or my headphones work but my software won't get audio so will I be able to hear both through my headphones and get elgoto software to pick up the audio

Buzzing Sound comes through while setup with the Astro A40/Mixamp/HD60/PS4. Any ideas? Got no response from elgato on twitter.
