I use Stream deck to open up 3rd party plugins on a chosen track and it saves me hours a day. I have 20-30 of my favorite plugins programmed via Keyboard maestro on Stream deck and now I don’t go scrolling through menus anymore.. game changer.
By far, the most concise & informative video about Stream Deck for audio apps/DAWs. Also clear from what you outlined how to construct more complicated sets of actions. Thank you!
Great video! On thing worth mentioning is that you can also send MIDI from StreamDeck to you DAW. By doing so, I have been able to control my plugins which is a time saver.
Great video. The Stream Deck is amazing for production, but I also use it to control smart home devices like lights and switches; the IFTTT integration allows you to do this. You can turn your PC on/off using the Steam Deck through various integrations as well. Overall, super useful device.
The stream deck has been a game changer for me in terms of workflow. I'm mainly using Studio One and using macros in the DAW and now with a single press it's awesome. Didn't realize you could do multi actions in the stream deck too like that. #videobolt
Cool tips, thanks :) One suggestion though that I find more opti overall if you have a lot of profiles is to replace the bottom right key by a folder on every page/profile and this folder content is always the same with shortcuts to directly open the specific profiles/pages that you want. (Yes, it's one clic more when you just wanted the next profile, but it's a lot of clics less than if you have to cycle through 4-10+ pages)
Wow, I'm very much impressed by the clarity of the explanations and the examples taken. Being a newbie since I only own one since few days, I would like to know if it's possible to open a plugin window of the Moog delay editor that is always on the same track and row of my template and close it after adjusting settings. I guess that this will require multi actions...but can't figure out how to proceed..So, would you have 3 minutes to help, this would be greatly appreciated. Warm hello from Italy and thanks again. Chris
I picked up the mk2 Stream Deck yesterday. I see why people have it. Definitely an easy approach to hands on macro automation. Question is creating folders for different hot key list still a thing? Example you have a folder for transport features, a folder for mixing etc. I like the profile button switcher I’m use that. Good video as always peace Sean.
Hi Sean! Great video. Sorry for the noob question, but how did you manage to put the total mix and rme system icons into the stream deck? I can't do it. Thanks! Cheers
Hello Sean, Thanks for the tips. I’ve got my Stream yard on the way. I want to eventually get deep into using this but for now I simply want to use it to play back tracks(markers) about 19 or 20 songs in a live situation. Would you be willing to advise?
Hey Sean - thanks for this. Great video. I’m using. 2021 M1 max with only 2 usb c ports. Elgato says this doesn’t work if used with a hub - is yours connected directly into your computer or through a hub (and if so, which one?) thanks
hey Sean I recently purchased the stream deck but I cant get any of the hotkey function to work in studio one 5. I get all my midi transport function working but no hotkeys. all the hotkeys work in all of my other daws just not studio one. any suggestions?
Can you open plugins from inside the daw? For example Kontakt; i dont want it to open as the stand alone app outside of my DAW, but on a channel within the project...can you do this?
Unfortunately, there's not a way to open up a specific plugin within my DAW (Logic Pro)... If your DAW supports shortcuts that would allow this, you could create a key command sequence with Stream Deck.
@@SeanDivine copy that, thank you for the reply =) It seems like ableton plays nicely with this--seeing a couple producers utilize the deck in their workflow which is amazing.
Hi! I think there's a way with the last version of speakerfood's plugsearch plugin. Where you can assign 9 hotkeys shortcut for your prefered instrument plugin. Not tested yet but i have seen that yesterday and i will try later. Hope it can help.
