To mount these (or any) panels for cheap, easy, and doesn't damage walls, do this. 1) Cut cardboard and glue to the back of your foam. 2) Use double sided tape on cardboard 3) Stick to your walls. If you want to adjust this is also the easiest way, as you can pull it off the wall to rearrange. If you begin to lose stickiness after a few moves just cover the old double sided tape with a small piece of paper and add another piece of tape. Good luck 😁👌🏻🤘🏻👍🏻
Use a hot glue gun for cheap foam panels, all you need is 4 "BB" sized tacks of hot glue to hang a panel. then just peel the glue off when you wanna take em down. If you wanna go a step farther to save your walls, apply a small piece of painter's tape where your glue goes on the wall. then the glue just peels off with the tape.
I think watching videos like one that was posted by Parker Walbec (How to Acoustically Sound Treat a Room Under $1,000 ) is a better way of seeing the differences that using acoustic panels can provide. The audio in your room really isnt very bad (or the recording wasnt very bad), I think the main difference here was your pronunciation.
it depends for what you need them for, if it's for asmr or professional acoustic stuff they are probably worth it, but if it's just for streaming/voice over/... the cheap one are way more than necessary.

If your using a dynamic mic such as the sm7b or samson q9u, proper mic technique and putting the mic closer to the source and lowering the gain will make these unnecessary.
of all the things you could do to improve the audio on this video. id say, brush your teeth and drink enough water before rolling to avoid all that mushy clicky mouth noise
wow, the shape of foam doesnt make any sense from the accoustic standpoint, flat surface would even be better than this. Classic "triangle" shape traps the sound waves inside so that they bounce of the foam at least twice before exiting, therefore dampen the sound quite a bit. On flat surface the wave bounces once, but at least gets redirected at the same angle away from the source. Here, on those wavy patterns it bounces usually once, but also in some parts it is directed right back at the source which is pointless. I would love to hear some tests compaing those panels to the 4-5 times cheaper, regular foam.
These are dual layer... The outer layer diffuses (somewhat) while the denser back layer absorbs... but even with the dual layer, I can spend $30 on a equal amount of coverage that performs the same if not slightly better.
I know putting foam panel on the wall must be hard for people. If you want an easy way to do it get some pain sticks glue the paint sticks on back of the foam then use command strips on the walls and the paint sticks just try to sell us $100 worth of s***
they are useless, not only useless but will make your room sound worse. If you want acoustic treatment for your room, go with something high density like Rockwool (at least 4-6" thick). Foam will just make your room sound worse. The only absorptions high frequency and room acoustic issue usually are the low end(500hz and down) with foam you may able to absorb some reverb tail and early reflection in your room but your room acoustic overall balance will sound way more muffle than without those. For $100 dollar you can buy some Owen Cornings OC703 fiberglass board plus some wood frame and fabric to DIY some acoustic panels and it will make a drastic difference.
You know why they don't tell you where to put your panels? Because this is all bullshit. Panels like these doesn't affect your rooms acoustics in any significant way, they're simply meant to look cool so (wannabe) streamers will buy them, thinking their setup will look professional. But six 5 cm thick panels on one wall does absolutely nothing to dampen the reverberation of your room. Placing these panels behind your screen is rather pointless, since your screen will reflect the sound of your voice back towards you and your microphone, so no significant sound will ever reach the wall behind your screen. The small amount of sound that does fall behind your screen will just be reflected back and forth between your screens back and the wall. Your 'before and after' test is also inaccurate because it's based on two different recordings, and two different recordings will always have two different waveforms. You need to record the same sound both times, at the same distance from the microphone, so you're sure there won't be any tonal or volume changes. If you really want better acoustics, you want to first set up your desk at the centre of your room, away from any corners and side walls, and with about 40 cm space between the back of your screen and the wall you're facing. After that you want to get your microphone placement right, get your audio input/output levels corrected, and look at using a compressor, limiter, and a gate on your input signal. If you're still get bad acoustics, then spend your money on a microphone isolation shield. Only after this should you think about dampening your room, starting with the corners of the room. But honestly, if you're just recording speech for streaming you probably won't need any dampening at all, as no one who listens will care about your audio quality that much, they just want to be entertained. So spend your money on some cool background lights instead.
Well... He did say they gave him the panels ... To be fair, they are decent panels, but so many cheaper panels have much better results. Most people who will buy these panels are streamers who care more about the look than the function. I would absolutely buy a stream deck... but these are NOT worth the money.
