all footage was taken from degrassi's official youtube channel and therefore is not owned by me content is from episodes 1011, 1015, 1016, 1126, 1145, 1204, 1205, 1219, and 1220
2 things: - i truly think Eli is just an ally but honestly that look at 0:23 was kinda fruity - i think there is nothing more heartwarming to hear after coming out than "COOL!!"
I didn't realize when I watched this as young teen in secondary school that it would impact me so much. I still have trouble opening up with my gender identity and sexuality. I didn't even realize in school what it all meant let alone who I was. I do now wish that I had an Eli with me at my school, it would've changed so much for the better.
Okay I never watched Degrassi in my life but I like this dude and I can easily tell theres a good amount of People who would put him in s tier or a tier lol
@@eagleangel5568you don't have to watch all the series if that helps? I personally just started with the first season of TNG, So I've only seen the Degrassi from this millenium 😂
ive never seen degrassi but i was searching adam torres on youtube cause im a trans guy and he's, like, the only trans guy in media i can think of, so i wanted to just see some clips of his arc to make myself feel idk a little less lonely. im the only trans person i know and im fully out and it sucks! a lot of the time! stumbled upon this and im fully crying now but in a good way. something about this random fictional straight dude being so genuinely kind and supportive... it got to me. guess i better watch degrassi then
You should! While Adam is the only trans man in the Degrassi, it does depict a few amazing LGBTQIA stories. I'd also recommend you watch Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. They have a great character Theo who comes out as a trans man in the third season, but his story was being told subtly from the very beginning. The actor playing him is non- binary in real life and talked about how they enjoyed helping shape Theo's journey in the show. In this clip, they explain their views on gender and briefly how they were able to share their story within the role. While being non- binary and trans are two totally different things, I think the story is still very inspiring ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qA8z0_tXIpg.html
you absolutely should! unfortunately eli doesn’t make an appearance until season 10 but in the earlier seasons there are plenty of lgbt characters and friends/family who support them!!
Ok - totally supportive of what the show did, I am gay myself, and I even think Jordan Todosey was brave for playing a trans person at this time. But how are we going to pretend you can't tell Adam was AFAB? If they weren't going to use an actual trams man, they could have at least done some FX makeup.
I assume mainly because nobody thought to question it, especially at the time? Most of the people seemed to know little to nothing about trans people. Also Adam was like 14 when he first appeared, and lots of cis boys aren't very masculine yet at that age
