Only lost by 3 points. Eli slayed the king.. 3 times. Eli is the GOAT.
Eli was a below average QB that was carried through two post seasons by the defense. In 2007 and 2011, not a single playoff team scored more than 20 points vs the Giants. Even when those same teams scored 45, 32, 35, 38, 27, and 37 points. Then Eli mostly scored fewer points in the playoffs and he's the hero? He had 8 playoff wins. 7 of them came off either on the road and neutral site. One of the hardest thing in all of football is winning a playoff game on the road in hostile environments. Eli thrived in those circumstances.
So did mark Sanchez lol 4 for 4 in playoff games all on the road and he came close to winning the afc championship to both on the road would’ve been cool to see but as a jets fan watching Eli was truly a spectacle Danny dimes doesn’t look half bad good luck this year
I love Eli- he might not have all the stats but he had that intangible magic- he was incredibly clutch under heavy pressure in the biggest games. Unflappable.
Should have had more opportunities for championships. The 2nd half of his career was defined by the front office giving him turnstiles for offensive lineman and defensive backs. He never complained once. Just another reason he's great.

Harrison early in the Giants final drive; A$ante $amuel on the play that we all know about; Brandon Meriweather right before Steve Smith’s 3rd-and-11. If ANY ONE of those is not dropped … the Patriots go 19-0.

@@frankguidera6828 Looking to get owned on multiple threads? lol It's true. In 2011, Eli had more yards in a post season than anyone else in history. Including everyone that had a first round bye and could only play a maximum of 3 games vs Eli's 4. It only makes sense that 4 average games will beat 3 good games. So, let's take the average of everyone that has played 3 or 4 games. That just seems fair. In that case, Eli falls to 14th. If you look at yards/attempt, he falls to 19th. That's a big drop from #1. So, just like in the rest of his career, he wasn't actually good, he just had more attempts than most people. Oh, yeah, and Brady came within 100 yards of breaking that record twice. In only 3 games. And about 5 others were within 200.
@@adamf6582 You might want to start smoking after what I have to say. And this is far from all of it. I looked at 5 of his first "comebacks" and what I found was very interesting. In 4 of those games through the first 3 quarters, Eli had a passer rating of 54. They were literally behind because of him. DUH! But, that leaves the 5th? This is true gold. Against the Eagles, the Giants had a 3 point lead, the ball, and just over 3 minutes to go. Eli throws an interception that leads to a tied game. Eli, being Eli, throws another interception, but time runs out on the Eagles. In overtime, he's putting together a game winning drive, but not being done, throws another interception. That's 3 interceptions in less than 12 minutes of 3 point game or less. But, the defense gets a sack/fumble recovery at the 29. Eli doesn't throw a single pass (would you let him after 3 in less than 12 minutes?), wins the game on a FG, and gets credit for a game winning drive for literally doing nothing on that drive and trying to give the game away on the three previous drives. The more I look into Eli's career, the more the good things are total smokescreens and the facts show that he just was not that good. He was literally dragged through the playoffs in 2007 and 2011by the defense, special teams, and some serious lottery winning like luck. Through his 16 year career, he was a below average QB. And those are the facts.
He was a beast. Went off on the rookie contact with toomer and Burress. Who did he buzzsaw through? Ryan, Favre,Rodgers and Brady. Spanked. Them. All. What a Dad this dude is! Thank you Eli. I mean. Chad powers lol
He spanked them? Eli never beat a single playoff team that scored more than 20 points. Even when those same teams scored 45, 32, 35, 38, 27, and 37 points against the Giants in the regular season. He literally had to rely on multiple pro bowl QBs to have one of their worst games of the year and still needed lucky plays for narrow last second wins. What games were you watching?

@@kirkmorris4133 No, I'm saying that Eli would never have won a playoff game if the defense didn't hold the opposition to 20 or less. What was Eli's record against teams that scored over 20 points? 0-4. In 2007 and 2011 Brady was a scoring machine. In 2007 he led the Patriots to 56, 52, 49, 48, 38, 38, 38, 38, 34, 34, 34, 31, 31, 31, 28, 27, 24, 21, and 20 before the SB. And when he scores 14 in the SB, that makes Eli a great QB? You do make a valid point. One person cannot do it all. But, who needed the more help? The guy that won over 75% of his games or the guy that didn't have a winning record at 50%? Anyone can get lucky for a few games. It happens all the time. But, to say that Eli is great based up 8 playoff games that make up less than 4% of his career (and he was literally carried by the defense, special teams, and lottery winning like luck) in a below average career (yes, he was below average) is insane. Would you like for me to show you how he was below average in multiple ways with facts, not opinions?
Yeah historic numbers and a good defense who saw him in the last week of the season realized they are not as badass as they thought. Sorry for not understanding I thought you were dissing Brady's daddy lol
What is weird is how the Patriots should have lost to the Falcons and Seahawks. And both games against the Giants they should have won. Asante Samuel dropped an int on the last drive in 42, and Wes Welker dropped a pass that would have clinched the game in 46.
Eli had something every young QB should have, a savvy veteran possession receiver like Amani Toomer. He was like Eli’s security blanket and was always there with a big catch at key moments.
People will say Romo choked, but against the Giants, the Cowboys offense had the ball the whole 2nd quarter and scored a td. With like 30-40 seconds left the Cowboys D choked hard and let Eil score a td. That was the end of the game. I knew we were losing.
@@The-Big-Boss when is the last time you guys won a Super Bowl Eli Manning didn't have a good team after 2012 he ran for his life for the back nine of his career stop hating he's better than any quarterback you ever had
As a niner fan Eli earned my respect in that championship game. Not because of his play, but his toughness. Niners lost because Kyle williams was a fumbling machine. But Eli was hit play after play. One time his helmet was sideways and he was walking like nothing happened
That game for me is what stamped Eli's ticket to HOF. He got his arse kicked, on the ground practically every play, he just kept going. Good comment hitman, I feel like this game gets overlooked too much.
You do realize that Eli had ZERO to do with the winning drive, his totals for 58 attempts were not good, and he had to rely on 2 lucky plays (both fumbles on punt returns) and 10 points for a narrow 3 point win. Something else to think about, on 17 drives he only crossed midfield 4 times, and two of them were fumble recoveries inside the 30. To me, it looks like that they won in spite of Eli. And this is one of 8 times Eli beat a playoff team that didn't score more than 20 points. Even when those teams scored, 45, 32, 35, 38, 27, and 37 vs the very same defense in the regular season. Please explain how Eli gets credit for those wins.
He took an ass kicking in that game. Kept bouncing up abd running the next play. People dint realize how tough Eli is. 2007 he separated his shoulder. He was meant to miss 4-6 weeks, played the next game.
If you watch most of those "clutch" games, he's a ghost for about 3/4 of the game and then has a few lucky plays for wins. He was literally not that good.
@@ShadowGaming26548 Does 117-117 suggest that he's good in the 4th quarter? And don't most QBs have a higher passer rating in the 4th because of prevent defenses that don't always work?
4th quarter career passer rating of 83.8 would strongly disagree with you. He was just the beneficiary of good press. When he messed up, it wasn't news. And there were a lot more of those.
@@anthonymorales8510 You can disagree. But, facts show that he was not clutch. He had a few high profile 4th quarter wins, but overall his 4th quarter passer rating was only 83.8. During his tenure, the NFL average was about 88-90 or so. So, for those few last second wins, he had a lot of other losses in which he was extremely "not clutch". As his 117-117 record would clearly show.
@@anthonymorales8510 And there are a lot of times in which he was given the "game winning drive" and he literally did nothing on the actual drive or the one before it for the win. And there are a lot of times when the loss is directly on him. 2015: First game of the season vs Cowboys. All he had to do was take a sack and the Cowboys would not have had enough time. But, he went for the TD, wasn't even close, stopped the clock, and then a true clutch QB went 75 yards in 6 plays for the win. 2018: Last game of the season vs Cowboys. After the Cowboys take the lead 35-36, a runback on the kickoff puts Eli at the 48. All he needs is about 15 yards for a game winning FG. Four horribly incomplete attempts later, the game is over. 2019: Vs Eagles. The Giants had the lead and then Eli had 4 completions in the second half and took the loss in overtime. Maybe Eli fans have forgotten "Mr. Clutch" in those circumstances.

That's definitely not true. I'm a life long Giants fan and everyone loved his game. Nobody questioned his talent, drive or leadership at the end of his career it was his lack of weapons and a putrid offensive line that people were displeased with.
Man eli was dragged thru the mud the last 2-3 years in the league. Everybody was calling for his head. And his despicable coach benching him mid way thru his last season to try and keep his job. Eli was blamed for everything and they have been a dumpster fire since he retired
The most clutch player of the 2010's. He was a must watch in the 4th quarter. Not a Giants fan, just remember so many comebacks from him, especially on SNF.
Just don't watch him in the first 3 quarters, because it was usually brutally ugly. Eli is known for his game winning drives, but in reality, his 4th quarter passer rating is a mere 83.8. Sure, he pulled it out sometimes, but more often than not, it was horrific to watch.
@@tomknapp6194 Horrific is a terrible choice of words. If you actually watch the giants you know he had many big time games where he played well throughout.
@@jonathanfiskus252 Actually, that is an outright lie. Eli rarely performed well through an entire game. In a lot of his games in which he has a "game winning drive", he was basically a ghost for the first 3 quarters, but if the defense kept him in it, he had a chance to make it up in the 4th. I don't see how that is good. Also, in the last 2 minutes, he was just as likely to throw a TD as an interception, 22 for each. But, those ints rarely make the headlines. It is always someone else's fault when Eli lost. But, if the Giants won, even if it had nothing to do with Eli, he was given all the credit. Don't trust the headlines on him and actually watch him play. He was not that good.
You may look at stats but you clearly haven’t watched giants football. During Eli’s first 8-9 yrs he had many GREAT games. The last few years were rough and watered down his stats. Watch a game everyone once in a while instead of reaching stats.
@@jonathanfiskus252 And that pretty much shows how little you know about Eli. if you break up his career between 2004-11 and 2012-2019 you will find: 2004-11: 2 SB wins 2 SB MVPs 8 postseason wins 2 of his best years ever passer rating: 82.1 2012-2013: 0 playoff wins Worst season by far (2013) Passer rating: 85.94 Everyone would like to think that Eli had his best stats up until 2011, but that just isn't true. What was the major difference? He wasn't being bailed out by his defense. Eli never beat a single playoff team that scored more than 20 points. I thought that was very strange. Until I did a little research and found out that when the opposing team scored 21+ points through Eli's career, he lost 74% of the time. Just for reference, when Romo's defense allowed 21+ points, he still won 40% of the time. But, the big question is how did Eli have better stats in the second half and win nothing besides being carried by the defense? That can be summed up in 3 letters: OBJ When Eli threw to OBJ, he had a 111 passer rating. When Eli threw to everyone else, it was a 79 passer rating. OBJ literally extended Eli's below average career by 5 years.
One of the most underrated QBs of all time and one of the most clutch. I’d rather give the ball to Eli with 2min than his brother in both their primes.
@@brianj4090 Actually, Eli's passer rating was below the NFL average in 9 of 16 years. That's over half his career. In 5 of the other 7, it was 3.8 or lower over the average, or still just average. Something like 7 late come from behind wins on a 9-7 team that made the playoffs by a hair. 2010 NYG was 10-6 and missed the postseason. Crazy. It's all about getting hot at the right time. People knocking Eli because he didn't put up fantasy numbers, but he was Clutch when I mattered. If you wanna bring numbers into it he's also top 10 in tds and yards.
He's top 10 only because he had the opportunity to throw a lot for below average results. His TDs/100 attempts is 74th all time. His yards/attempt is 93rd all time. That's quite a drop from top 10 when you factor in attempts. Just throwing a lot for a long time for below average results is not impressive.
In 2011, it was the only time in his career he had a top 10 passer rating (7th). It was a great year. For Eli. Just kind of an average year for Brady, Brees, Peyton, Rodgers, or even Romo.
@@frankguidera6828 Wow..... He should have had an MVP? He was never even in MVP consideration! Sure, he was nominated in 2011..... And received zero votes. He was only there because the Giants were in the playoffs. Romo and Stafford literally had better years with better TD and interception percentages, but didn't make the playoffs. Probably because of horrible defenses. Most postseason yards? That sounds pretty impressive, doesn't it? But, there are some things to consider. Does a QB have a better chance having more yards in 3 or 4 games. Most of the time, the best QBs have a first round bye so the maximum they can play in is only 3. After all, that's like saying one QB gets to play 16 games and the other only 12 in a season. Who do you think will have the most yards? Let's be fair and compare the average yards of all QBs to have played 3 or 4 games. When you do that, Eli falls to 14th. When you look at yards/attempt, he falls to 19th. Once again, not that great, just throwing a lot for below average results. There is no magic in that. Also, Brady almost broke that record twice by coming within 100 yards of that total. In 3 games. And multiple others are well under needing a lot less than a mere 200 in another game to pass Eli's 1,219. And why do you think that Eli was running for the second half of his career? No one was afraid of him. Eli might burn a team from time to time. But more than not, he would hang himself with a little pressure and he just wasn't that accurate. An extra defender was not needed in the secondary so they could commit more to the rushing Eli and stopping the run. Romo had a bad line most of the time, was running for his life also, and he carried the Cowboys and had a top 10 passer rating 8 times. Eli? Top 10 passer rating once in 16 years. In fact, in those 16 years he was below the NFL average 9 times. In 5 of the other 7, he was 3.8 or less higher than the average, or still just average. In 2 of 16 years, he was not average or below average. And those are the facts on Eli. Just really not that good.
Until Eli, I've never heard this statement. It is like Eli fans are reaching for anything to make him sound relevant. 117-117, leading the league in interceptions 3 times, and only once in the top 10 passer rating in 16 years is not impressive. Fair to say that is somewhat below average just on those facts alone.
The entire NFL misses Eli! No one was afraid of him. Most of the time, the defensive game plan was to let Eli play and see if he hangs himself. Which he did plenty of times.

How many Juggernaut regular season teams did Eli Manning beat or have them beat and only have the defense to give up the lead with less than a minute and a half to go
Not many. Let's take the playoffs for example. Even when teams he faced in the playoffs scored 45, 32, 38, 35, 27, and 37 points against the Giants in the regular season, except for one time, Eli led the Giants to fewer points than he scored in the regular season and was hailed the hero. This is insane. It was the defense, because Eli was literally below average.
Eli has some great clutch moments, but he also had a ton of support from the get-go. The Giants also had some great defensive efforts in the playoffs during his tenure.
How many times did we hear "complete to toomer" or "caught by cruz" he had some incredibly talented teammates. Eli(te) Toomer is my favorite giant maybe all-time Go Giants!
I'm not a giants fan i am an Eli Manning fan so i got a special place in my heart for these two Superbowl wins especially because he stuck it to Tom Brady and the Patriots! For me he got em back for rolling over Peyton and the colts. Yeah I'm a fan of the whole dynasty and i hope arch Manning goes on to make history somewhere else where undoubtedly I'll be rooting for him!
Eli was such a blessing for us Giants fans!!! When it came down to the Giants needing a score to win the game and the ball was in Eli's hands, you might had well just put the points on the board because Eli was "MR. CLUTCH". The Giants were getting those points!!!
