I remember watching Tomac live at south wick his first year on a 250. That kid was so smooth we could all tell he was special. Little did we know he’d be one of the best ever
Supercross is nothing compared to motocross. This is real racing right here. High speeds on a wide long track, 2 feet deep ruts, natural terrain. This is the sauce right here.
Probably because sx has a much higher risk factor and way less room.for mistakes. And theres nothing Americans love more than seeing people cripple themselves lol. Na JK, well maybe. But I honestly think it's the risk factor.
I think it’s mainly the big stadiums the lights the jumps the shorter race times because people can get bored and the way that they really build up and intensify the points race in supercross is what makes it different. I love how fast they go in motocross but there’s something about the supercross championship and the production that just makes it more fun to watch.
Tomac, may not be the best at Supercross...but once the outdoors starts....look out, cause ET3 is a totally different animal. Here's to a third consecutive outdoor title!
Actually, Tomac is among the top 20 most wins for Supercross ever lmao. Besides, they changed the points system, so championship doesn't mean jack shit in SX anymore.
I love the way this guy carries momentum. The way he just blasts the outside. No defense, all offense. Just on the gas the whole fucking time. Just the way he applies pressure and breathes down your neck sticking a wheel in every chance he gets, just to come back for more before he eventually gets you, sheesh.
Tomac had incredible moves against other guys who brought their own magic moves. Just one of the reasons, of many, which make this sport is so fun and exciting to watch.
@@Cole199_ Herlings is talking about coming over for the 2019 mx and we will see then. You cant base anything off of the MXON it's one race, yes herlings was faster that one race but that doesn't amount to much In a full season.
@@wcrider Definitely wasn't a good game plan. It probably didn't help they way the set up redbud during MXON, Decoster said it himself that they hauled in dirt and made more like an mxgp track than the normal RedBud. FIM trying to favor the European riders
Tomac is hands down the best American Motocross rider. The way he rails outside lines is unmatched. He is great at Supercross I think his luck just doesn’t hold up as well.
There is nothing normal about this kid. His dad was a world champion cyclist AND his mom was one of the best women riders. Genetics and Drive are what helped this Kid!!!
@@DouweEgberthe’s relentless buddy. When tomacs beast mode is engaged, NO one can stop him, and it proves it over and over again in these vids. Year after year he has proven it and that’s why he’s the best. Done things no one else has.
6:24 to 6:33 Maybe my favorite pass and clip ever.... Just ridiculous Superhuman momentum passing Cairoli Like that... Unbelievable!... I'm giving up riding lol.
by far the best in USA at moment , 3 national MX titles ...should have won a SX title with his speed , maybe 2020 ? time is running out for him ,Marvin and Kenny
@@Hermelin.G1 The data doesn't lie. Tomac has beaten the guys from MXGP more than they have beaten him. Not to mention, he torches two former MXGP champions every year. "What about at Ironman?" He was racing for a championship, not to beat Herlings. "What about 2018 MXON?" It was a mud race, that's a survival race, not pure speed. You might want to check out the MXGP races in the U.S. that he's participated in. He torches the MXGP riders.
lil Sebastian bruh its another us fanboy trying to convince evryone that tomac is the fastest everywhere. Look, I loooove to watch tomac in Sx, but he just isnt the fastest in mx. Tomac is awesome tho dont get me wrong ;-)
Tomac Tomac Tomac thats all I hear, seems like he gets all the press. We just got back from Bronco stadium where he dominated and so did AC. I can watch him race all day but its time to get to work. Can't wait til Thunder Valley in June. Hope all riders stay healthy! Who' s is this Webb kid? Just jokin' [ he is great too, probably will get the title].
How can this guy do all that! It's like he's not riding the bike, it feels like HE is the bike, even if I train myself for years I wouldn't be able to reach someone like Eli Tomac level bro
In my opinion Herlings, Tomac and Villopoto have been the fastest ever on a dirt bike in terms of pure speed. The kind of guys that were untouchable when they are comfortable.
@Taylor Anderson In my opinion, I think that when both are on point Villo is faster than Stewart. Don't get me wrong Stewart is a beast and is one of the fastest ever. But I just think that Herlings, Villo and Tomac (when he is comfortable, this year has been a let down) are consistently faster. Villo had the potential to be the GOAT if he didn't burn out, although that would be a tough task.
I have always wondered what ET3’s career would have looked like had he not had the crash at Thunder Valley and figured out his starts. Only Carmichael could carry the speed Tomac does
@@HooyahPeacock tomac won his first ever pro national in 2010... RC retired in 07 again, Carmichael and tomac never got to race against each other. Get your facts straight before you start talking shit
@@technowiz1772 speed doesn't mean everything have to have the strength to continue to compete which Villopoto has I'm a die hard eli tomac fan but if he gets the drive Villopoto had he'd be on of the greatest of all time hands down I'm still waiting for that to happen !!!! Can't wait for supercross 2020
Great mx rider super fast and rides the edge but he’s a hit or miss in sx... how about coop coming outta nowhere though.. rooting for roczen all the way though.
He gets up after going down instead of lolly gagging around like the rest. He picks the motorcycle up like it was a bicycle. The rest go down and go into a weird spaz mode.
What do I do if my son wants to race like I did he is 11 almost 12 but only 62lbs very small he can't race a 65 cause he will be 12 a 85 is to big I can't buy a new bike every year I know I can lower a85 a little any suggestions?
WTF happened at 6:38 ????? I don’t follow moto that closely now (after about 40 years of racing), but Tomac is on a red Honda in the last part of this video. I thought maybe I had entered the twilight zone and had to check and make sure my cranium was still intact, but seriously, what happened? What is the big #3 number plate doing on a Honda after 6:38 into the video? Wad I miss??? lol
The red number plate means your in the points lead for the season. If you have the number 1 then you won the championship the year before. Tomac was on a Honda back then and swiched to a kawasaki in like 2016 or 17.
For what Roczen went through injury wise he's getting on speed and will be a danger to ET who I am also a fan, and Musquin is getting faster all the time but now has a knee injury which he's trying to not go for surgery, ET has had two big shoulder injuries. Motocross eats its young.
This one is truly going to remain an unanswered question. I believe that MXGP would probably be a closer competition if Eli was over there doing MX the entire year than doing both SX and MX. But Lucky for us, we get him instead of the Europeans. In truth, we will never have a definitive answer to which one is better. Certainly Eli has the skill to beat out Herlings and if he did nothing but MX the entire year and came into the MXON (MXdN) fresh off the competition season, the results might actually be very different. SO we shall never know. Not for sure. Unless Herlings comes over here.
im pretty sure he was beating villopotos and stewarts qualifying and fastest lap times at a few races when he was on a 250, then injuries plagued him in the 450s for a couple years, hes just got healthy and slowed down a bit he keeps that insane speed for when he really needs it lol
@@nolangray43 Ah that makes sense. Villopoto retired in 2015, must be why I never saw them up front together. It's just a bit surprising seeing Tomac come out of nowhere and spank the whole field. I do recall him being on a Honda at some point.
AKmotorider150 he was an amazing 250 rider from 2010 to 2013, went 450s in 2014 and had a few good races, 2015 outdoors he dominated on honda until he got injured, 2nd moto at Hangtown that year he won by 1: 40 seconds, 2016 was decent, switched to kawi and was 2nd to Roczen and Dungey most of the year, a few good races, but since round 4 of 2017 supercross he has been dominate indoors and out
@@nolangray43 Sounds like it just took some time for him to bloom, like most dominant racers. Just goes to show that to get to the front, you need a few years experience racing the big boys. Thanks for the recap, I guess I just never noticed him back then because I was usually focused on Villo. I wonder how he got injured in 2015.
