@@fia5594 You really need to play more games then. Of course half life 2 is a monument of a game, just as it was when it came out. But games of quality are just as common now as they were before, you just have to look in the right places
Yeah, Gordon was 27 when he was put in stasis by Gman after the events of Half Life. Alyx is 24 when they meet in HL2. Eli comments on how Gordon looks exactly the same as the last time he saw him (Black Mesa), so we know no time passes in Gman stasis. So, to HL2 Gordon, it just feels like he's waking up from a night's sleep into a dystopian future after killing the boss. He's the same as he was from the time of the Black Mesa incident. But... even though Alyx is 24 when he officially meets her, she was a child during Black Mesa and it seems Eli brought her up at least once so Gordon at least knew of her existence back then. Though, he only personally met her in HL2. So no prior knowledge of her besides mentions or probably the same old baby pictures Eli would _still_ be showing off. So... yeah, they're in perfectly reasonable age as two adults. And not just by a technicality. Gordon was forcibly skipped through time, he *is* still 28, body and mind. And Alyx and Gordon never physically met before HL2, 24 year old Alyx is the only Alyx he knows. But.. it still always feels a bit off.

If you think about it, had Gordon not been frozen by G-Man this whole scene wouldn't have happened because Gordon would have been 47 years old and something like an uncle for Alyx
@@jacseptionyt actually, I think Gordon started working at Black Mesa the same year the resonance cascade happened, although I don't know for how many months or weeks
Alyx and Gordon would be an amazing couple, and are roughly the same age. But why does Eli know that? He worked with Gordon twenty years ago, he's trying to set his daughter up with someone he thinks is old enough to be her dad.
It doesnt matter in that situation humanity is near extinct he wants them to have kids to boost human numbers since the combine had kind of neutered everybody with the force field thing
I'm guessing that Eli's awareness of G-man (made clear in his speech later in the game) and the fact that Gordon doesn't look 20 years older than he did in their Black Mesa days has something to do with it.

This line is INSANELY weird given that Eli has no reason to know Gordon was in stasis for 20 years, as far as he's aware Gordon is a 47 year old man who just looks super good for his age and he's bringing out the mf snack bowl and condoms for him to get it on with his daughter

Well now that the Combine Super Portal is down, the forces on Earth are separated from the rest of the empire, winning the war will become more likely for the resistance. And if Eli managed to have a kid during this war, maybe Alyx and Gordon can do the same.
When I played half life 2 and the episodes for the first time, I legitimately felt no attraction to Alyx, and I was almost offended when Eli tried to ship her and Gordon (For the record I do like women)

@@ItzKyber Eli knows about the G-man, and that he is connected to Gordon. Presumably he put 2 and 2 together and realized just what happened to Gordon for 20 years.
