Have been a fan of the channel for a while. I’m from Springfield originally, so now I’m a bigger fan! We used to visit New Salem on school field trips each year, or Clayville if we were unlucky. I live in the STL area now.

I don’t know that I’ve had any bottle yet that I would drop $200 on. $500 for a bottle of whiskey is absolutely bonkers.

I stay away from Dickel because of what most people say about it, but 500? I don't have a bit of a problem never drinking that. 😂

I’ve tried to get into Dickel on many occasions, but just cannot stand it. I don’t remember a Sweetens Cove blind on here but if so I’d love to be pointed to it. I’d love to y’all do one if not. Their pricing is nuts.

9:53 I have never in my life had any whisky which I consider to be worth $500, and I've been able to taste some expensive allocated stuff. I like the Dickel No. 12, but I won't buy this stuff even if I see it.

Thanks for the video. Interesting point about Dickey 9 and 15. Never looked that close at actual age. Dickey is not my favorite spirit.

I just tried a store pick (9 year) that had a decent proof for a Dickel (103) and zero minerality. It was delicious! I have the Dickel 17 and enjoy it but I think that one was overpriced. This is just insane! Wait till it rots on shelves and then buy it when the store owner has a fire sale.

I've still got about half a bottle of Dickel 15 year that I paid only $60 for and it's over 100 proof. It's the only Dickel I have liked so far.

I've had all the Dickel bonded series. Have liked them all. The 15 yo need to be over 100 proof than can be great.

I could pick up 10 great bottles of bourbon for $500, would rather do that.

I'm not a hater of Dickel, per se, but the "Flintstones vitamins" minerality is often times too overpowering to get past. I agree with going for a Dickel 15yr single barrel instead of this ridiculously priced nonsense--the one I found is 16 years old and tastes like cherry Coke, right down to the carbonated effervescence. Or maybe their older BiB releases--I have the 13yr release from 2 years ago that has the minerality tamped way down, and was about $60.

I don’t like anything over 12 years. I’m not a huge oak fan. I like cherry vanilla date grape molasses and little oak. No way I would buy this. But I want one for the bar. 😂

Hyped up whiskey missing the mark isn’t a bad thing(other than making me sad) I’ll just head back to my ol’ cheap easy to find reliable bottles. Cheers
