Trenton's "Sweet Jesus. Buy this if you see it. Thanks for watching." is one of the funniest reactions ever. EVER. Having said that, I'm definitely buying it.

ECBP will always have a special place for me. It was the first time I truly "got" the flavors and notes that everyone was mentioning in the bourbon community. About 6 months into my bourbon journey. Have managed to get almost every one since then . Looking forward to this release! Sweet Jesus! Lol
The age statement is the youngest bourbon that went in it. Absolutely there would be some older stuff in there & you can tell. It’s an amazing bottle. I’ll buy another one if I can find one.
I have now seen two reviews of this, yours and the Mash and Drum, and both thought this was the best ECBP in some time. Looking forward to getting one of these. Cheers!
Great video guys! I’ve been hunting this for a couple weeks now. Walked into a store today and finally saw it on the shelf.. I couldn’t believe it. Only problem was it was the B release from earlier this year!! Of course I still bought two but I guess my hunt continues.. BTW the price jumped from $65 to $75 here in PA but that didn’t stop me at all 🥃
Friday blinds would be great. One of my favorite things to do is have the family pick a few out and make a blind for me at home. Let's me work on tasting and trying to pick things up and always fun to see what bottles randomly get thrown in and how they finish.
WOW! This bottle just got bumped to the top of my wish list! I hope I can find it soon in my area. I can not wait to taste this one. Friday Blinds sounds like a great idea.
Love the idea of friday blind day. The blinds are usually my favorite videos. Would love to see a blind of wheated only bourbons where you have a couple Buffalo trace allocated products mixed with some other wheaters. Maybe something like Eagle rare, weller 107, weller full proof, Bardstown BiB, green river wheated bourbon, and makers mark cellar aged.
Elijah Craig is like the first bourbon that got me back into them very recently. Love seeing fellow Hoosiers enjoying something like this. It’d be interesting and awesome to try something that high proof as I haven’t yet on my new journey. Great video as always guys.
Picked up a bottle of C923 last Thursday and was very pleased that it lived up to my excitement. It's incredibly good! BUT, last year I happened to pick up a bottle of ECBP single barrel store pick Thats 10 years old and clocks in a 135.7proof and drinks so far under it's proof it's unreal! Maybe I'm just a heaven hill fan boy, but holy smokes are they putting out some incredible stuff!
Picked this up as a store pick the other day and I 100% agree with Trenton's "Sweet Jeeesus!" Amazing bottle all around. Gonna have to pick up one more...or two. Wow.
As soon as I heard SWEET JESUS! Buy this… I knew this was a great bourbon. The rest (caramel, oak, spice, mouth feel, etc etc) was superfluous and I was hooked! I’ll be going into town and searching for this one first thing in the morning. Thanks for a great review.
Friday blind day as a regular series would be great! BTW, the Virginia ABC store pick of ECSB that was released a few months ago came in at 10 years, 134.8 proof. Haven't opened it yet, but I'm looking forward to it, especially if I can't find the C923!
was able to acquire a bottle of ECBP C923 myself! You are correct that it drinks to its 133 proof; amazing flavors! This is by far my favorite BP so far!
Thank you for a great tasting of EJC923, I snagged a bottle here in the NE for 79 bucks. I tucked it away for now, and I’m on the hunt for another before I crack this one open. I have been a lover of EC back when Heaven Hill had a 12 year statement on it.
Sounds like it’s up there as a top 3 guys.I am an Englishman in Mexico and we cannot get any decent bourbons at this level , but going back to England in a month , I have already got Rare breed, eagle rare , and buffalo trace , weller , it’s so cheap too , the eagle rare is less than 35 bucks , lucky in England for sure. Love your take and how you enjoy yourselves, never stop the content and Friday blinds is a great idea, love to see n hear your humour and comments , keep it going
FINALLY…. I had been searching here for it seems like forever. Got a bottle today. They had a one bottle limit per customer and were running out fast. They also had the Larceny Barrel Proof C923, but passed… for now. A few hours later… got to try it. Probably the highest proof I have ever had. It does have that burn, but is still excellent!
Blind day sounds good. Also, Field and Sound bib bourbon is excellent and it’s their own distillate. They have a rye and single malt too which I haven’t tried. Available at my Total Wine. Best thing I’m drinking now is a Old Pepper rye single barrel at 115 proof.
Went to go scoop this up this week. Ended up talking to a Heaven Hill rep that said it won't be in Michigan until the holidays. This video just destroyed my patience for it. Haha. Upvote for Friday blinds!
I had the good fortune of getting a case of C923. Calling it now... this one is going to go down as one of the most revered and coveted ECBP to date and the foreseeable future. The value off the age statement and proof alone are extraordinary. People lost their minds when EC said they were dropping their 12 year age statement in favor of more dynamic releases. C923 laughs at the naysayers and those who called this as the end times for ECBP. This truly might be one of the best sub-$100 bottles you can buy.
The sequence from 3:29 to 3:51 literally had me spitting out my coffee laughing. Great, great video guys! "Sweet JESUS... buy that... thanks for watching..." 🤣🤣🤣
The C923 is fantastic. I grabbed that and a Lux Row Four Grain double SiB and drove straight to a friend's house and cracked them both. The C923 is just fantastic. Unlike other 128 - 134 proof EC BP I have had that can drink like water this you know the proof and it is enjoyable. A Friday night type pour for me not a daily but that may be because I also had the Lux Row. The Lux Row is a fantastic pour with great mouthfeel and a long long lasting finish. I went out the next day and bought another bottle of each.
please definitely do a blind with all of your top ECBP's! I for one would love that. and Friday blind day is awesome. always good to test the palate's to see what you really like without seeing the labels.
I'm sure there are plenty of viewers that would love to see a blind of all EC Barrel Proofs (not just the favorites). Say all three 2022 & 2023 together. Or Each of the last three years individually, then the winners compete in one final blind. Thanks for the videos guys.
Definitely can't wait to try that. I'm not a proof guy but very curious. Would love to see One of you guys blind the other one with their favorite pours say 3 choices, one glass is neat and one glass has a drop or two of water. Interesting to see the difference.
Elijah Craig fan boy here. I had to narrow down the purchases and settled on the "B" batches a couple of years ago. I do buy ECPBs as these store picks are usually very good; proofier and younger than the batch releases. I will buy another release if the hype has me intrigued, last time was C922. I will get the C923 and hunting to see if I can find a C921 for a blind. "Sweet Jesus" best line ever!
hey great review. I got to taste a sample of this at KY Bourbon fest and grabbed a bottle. Would love to see a blind of all three releases this year. cheers
I like the Friday blind day idea. Friday Blind Date sounds better. You guys could take turns providing a special guest that will be a surprise to the other. Just a thought. Laughed out loud at the “SWEET JEEEZUS… Buy this, if you see it. Thanks for watching.” roll the patrons.
I gotta get me some of dat juice! Elijah Craig brings all the boys to the yard!..........lol Great job guys. I look forward to the Friday Blinds too. "It's Donut Time"
The EC BPs are always something I look for. I feel like this is the most hyped-up release ever. From the older age statement and higher proof, it is going to be harder to find.
Love your show. I hope I did well. Let me know. I am in Texas and was traveling through small towns and found a store that had ECBP C923 for $68, Larceny A123 for $66, and a Fiur Roses Small Batch Select for $61. I grabbed all 3.
