Congratulations to Elijia King, whose Good Turn earned him the 2012 Glenn A. and Melinda W. Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award. Elijia furnished 10 apartment for homeless veterans.
Wonderful project, and Elijia seems like exactly the kind of authentic, level-headed young man that deserves the Eagle rank and this recognition. Great job!
I'm hoping on making a kit to give out to the homeless to help them with their current situation. Dry food, water, reusable water bottle, water purification tablets, matches, 1st aid kit, soap, socks (wool or synthetic. Cotton absorbs too much moisture), rain gear, deodorant, toothbrush, tooth paste, floss, gift cards, maybe a tarp they can use for shelter ect. Plus 10 bucks. I'm hoping to make 150 kits maybe more. It's gonna be really expensive but whatever I can do to help.
