Movable yellow block is forced away from fixed gray block by green spring-loaded wedge. Pressure is applied to both sides of the pink lead screw, thus ensuring snug fit.
Contact occurs between the right side of the screw and the gray block and between the left side of the screw and the yellow block.

Nice way of adjusting backlash. Yes here also spring selection plays important role. More spring force means less clearance between nut and screw and more force required for rotation of screw.

The wedge angle should not be too small and the spring force should be moderate.

Is it possible to fix the green wedge after adjustment so that it does not move on the axis if there is too much pressure?

If we do so, the backlash caused by mechanical wear will not be automatically eliminated.

One more thing I wanted to ask are u trying to maintain relationship between grey & yellow nut with respect to screw using the square structure locking interlinking of both yellow and grey nut. Since the clearance between edge faces of both grey & yellow nut block should be minimum. Try to add ballbearing to reduce friction between all three faces of grey & yellow nut forming a angular lock. 0:34

Also assumed screw is not bent, else it won't function properly.[other words yellow(floating block) and grey individual block may bend screw if load is not distributed equally]. For that thinking and span I wanted. Else u can present ur thoughts.

Set 4 holes near corner on grey block each side where yellow block contact grey block. Mount balls with spring[if needed] with the help of groove screw. Thus reduce friction between yellow and grey block. Will share sketch as u said by next weekend. At the most add additional 1 at each side center along with 4 balls.

Also cover the yellow block from all 4 sides with the grey block. Similar arrangement from top side as mentioned previously for 3 sides. Thus maintaining plane perpendicular to screw axis.
