Elisabeth Moss Describes A 'Fictional' Totalitarian, Right-Wing Regime 

I just started watching "The Handmaid's Tale" and I'm LOVING it. I also just learned that she's a Scientologist. If you need me, I'll be over here, attempting to comprehend that.

Scientology aside, its INCREDIBLY relieving to watch this woman laugh after the stress of handmaids tale.

Just finished season one, such a great show. But very confused to hear that she is a scientologist. Perhaps we can save her and help her get to Canada.

Her name is not Elisabeth, it's Ofhollywood

I truly believe watching Elisabeth Moss play Offred in THT is one of the greatest acting jobs in years and years. She never ceases to amaze week after week!

Interesting how she's is in a fictional show about a cult, while also being a member of one. The human mind is fascinating.

Good thing she's not a part of a restrictive, abusive belief system.

Then you find out she's a Scientologist.

I love her even if she is a Scientologist. She's such a breath of fresh air. She isn't the standard cookie cutter "Hollywood beauty." That certainly isn't to say that she is lacking in the beauty department because she certainly isn't. I just love that her face has some actual character and she's built like a real woman. So much talent in one package.

"Musicians" .. aka scientologists is the reason she wasnt in school. It's pretty ironic she is the lead in the handsmaids tale and yet she support and practices scientology a religion that oppresses, controls women men and children. Also takes children away from them parents at a young age. Bizarre and disturbing

I really love Elizabeth Moss, but it is such a shame that she was born into Scientology. I hope she's doing alright.

The Handmaid's Tale is the only series I've seen that stars Elizabeth Moss. In fact, it's pretty much the only place I've seen her. When she walked in and sat down, all I could picture in my head was that this was actually and truly Offred/June, attending a talk show after the fall of Gilead to tell her tale. And that feeling was really, really cool. Because it's also plausible. Talk shows would most likely be reinstated after Gilead is gone, and I could see June attending one.

She was evasive about her schooling, probably because of the Scientology background. I like her, but maybe she could address why Shelley Miscavige has not been seen in public since 2007.

Such a great actress. Am I the only one creeped out that she's a Scientologist? It has to be the easiest way to break into Hollywood. Their networking is unmatched. Kind of like selling your soul.

I read The Handmaid's Tale for English when I was in high school and became an instant fan of Margaret Atwood. I absolutely loved Elisabeth Moss in this show, and still do to an extent. I just recently learned about her involvement in Scientology. How can someone playing this role still uphold cult values in their real life? It goes against everything she believes in and fights for. I don't think I can ever look her the same way, it will be hard for me to believe any honesty her character portrays knowing it's all a sham compared to her true self.

She's apparently a great tap-dancer as well, talking about her childhood and education and avoiding mentioning Scientology at all...

Can't believe Stephen didn't mention the show "Top of the Lake", possibly Moss's finest performance. And it's coming back in 2017 for a 2nd season, after a 4 year hiatus. Can't wait!

The Handmaid's Tale is one of the best shows I've ever seen in my whole lifetime. It is extremely relevant, surreal, well-crafted and multilayered. You feel like you're a part of the character's world and so deeply invested in her getting out. If you're a woman, you especially MUST see this show...they touch on a lot of things we experience by society on a multitude of levels.
