Every word has meaning. Every phrase has expression. Brava!

Sie war die Gesangs-Lehrerin meiner Schwester und Schwarzkopf gab Ihr viel mit in der Künstlerkarriere meiner Schwester.

She's wonderful! Ok, it's not the only way to play the role & she's never an 'everyday' artist (the word pointing is both illuminating & irritating, depending on one's mood or frame of mind). But compared to Schwarzkopf, most other interpreters seem trivial. Barely interpreters at all, in fact. And in 61 the voice was still in great shape.

So naturally expressive with that distinct instrument. Such musical intelligence.

She was the best Marchallin, aber wusste nicht wie zu singen, kann man hören when Sie versucht beim studieren im Masker zu singen und auf die Bühne nicht so oft, darum ist es so lange gut gegangen!

How can she be the best and not know how to sing? She was a master at her craft. And a great teacher. She taught many of todays stars.

@@familypondman Correction…she was regarded as an excellent teacher by many of operas big names. Research it before you make your nasty comments. End of conversation. Get lost troll.

totally unnatural - an over interpretation that doesn’t work anymore nowadays -

I agree, in two ways. 1. The Marschallin is not middle-aged. She is in her 30's, and will have more lovers. But they won't be 17! 2. Schwarzkopf puts so much anger into a scene that is more rueful than bitter.

I love your handle--clearly a Rosenkavalier fan!

well, on stage, needs to project to the orchestra (stalls) and beyond. Taverl better not be looking at her. She'd make his clock stop.

@@philzmusic8098 reflective she is, but not so bitter and horrified at the idea of aging like Schwarzkopf -
