What started out as a teenage "crush" (half of my friends suffered the same fate - Karate Kid era) has grown into absolute respect for this actor's professional accomplishments. I wish her continued success in her career and life. I think she has more to offer in the film industry - keep at it!!!!

Based on this video, you would think "The Karate Kid" and "Adventures in Babysitting" were the only movies she starred in. No mention of "Leaving Las Vegas", "CSI", or any of her other noteworthy projects. He also neglected to mention that one of her brothers died in a freak accident while jumping from a rope into a river (or was it a pond?) Finally, he didn't tell us that her brother is Andrew Shue of "Melrose Place" fame.

So she was going to an elite private college (Wellesley), started making commercials because she was pretty, got the acting bug, dropped out of college, went back to another elite private college (Harvard), went back to acting... explain to me the part where she's a badass -- it's not like she became a plumber or electrician. That would have been badass.

I get what your saying but because she had opportunity does not make her a bad person.Been impressed with her since"Adventures in babysitting"., Also,she never said she was a badass,the poster did.And Elizabeth ,with her work history is a beautiful badass.Smoke that.

The Term "Bad Ass" is more associated with people who engage in violence. When I saw the title to his video - I was wondering how it applied. Was she a Sheriff's Deputy on the side or something like that? No - the Term does not apply. It was a stupid term to use to describe an Actress. As Sports go - you might hear of American Football Players described as Bad Asses - but not Tennis or Soccer players. This was a nice discussion of her career - though not well done - but the Title of this Video is Bull Shit. .

Never heard of her. If she was so perfect why didn’t she brake through into star status?.
@traeucity6087
@traeucity6087 Год назад
For your information, it's BREAK; not BRAKE; and Elisabeth Shue was nominated for an Oscar, for her co-starring role, with Nicholas Cage, in, 'Leaving Las Vegas'. Here's an excerpt from a review at the time... "And then, even without taking off too many of her clothes, the 32-year-old leaped into the adult acting stratosphere. An Oscar nomination - for her portrayal of a Vegas prostitute who falls for fellow nominee Nicolas Cage's suicidal alcoholic - leaves no doubt that she can, indeed, act."

"paulnolan1352," Amazing how someone who comes across as a 12-year old by spouting an inane, uninformed comment like "never heard of her" about a 40-year veteran of film and television thereby placing one's self as the center of the universe, a private little world that probably started with DC (Disney Channel) and can't take the time to check out IMDB and Wikipedia so as not to put his / her foot in mouth, embarrassing one's self beyond the point of redemption Shue was Oscar nominated for her unforgettable "Leaving Las Vegas" role as the hooker just off the Strip who helplessly watches the despondent, chronic alcoholic played by Nicholas Cage, in his Oscar-winning role, literally drink himself to death. Oh, wait a sec -- it was rated "R" so a good bet to explain "paulnolan1352"'s unfamiliarity. Of considerably lighter fare but more widely seen were Shue's back-to-back turns as Michael J. Fox's love interest in the "Back to the Future" sequels. She played (most) every boy's fantasy in the delightful "Adventures in Babysitting" and indeed, 'carries' the film which had elements of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" with Matthew Broderick doing the heavy lifting there. Another delightful comedy Shue shined in was the true ensemble "Soapdish" [Kevin Kline, Sally Field, Robert Downey, Jr., Whoopi Goodberg, Carrie Fisher], a behind-the-scenes, satirical look at the distinctive, cocoonish, silly world of television soap operas. On the primetime small screen Shue joined CBS's juggernaut "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" in its 11th season and continued with it through the end of its incredible 15-year run. . . . One of CBS's original "The Twilight Zone"'s most memorable episodes, 'The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street' served as the basis for the hard-hitting, bleak, end-of-times? feature, "The Trigger Effect," in which Shue and Kyle MacLachlan star as the imperiled, suburbanite couple determined to survive a calamitous event. In addition to her long-running, diverse acting career Shue has displayed a life away from the arts that's as well rounded as her fetching figure. She chose to devote time to being a wife and mother, the former approaching 30 years, the latter, raising three children: two daughters and a son. In addition she's excelled in the pinnacle of higher learning, having graduated Harvard University with a degree in government in 2000. Speaking of school, "paulnolan1352," it's "break" through, not "brake" through. . . . And, while "VINTAGE ARCHIVE"'s teasing, suggestive 'Never Knew She Was a Total Badass in Real Life' is pure clickbait, NOWHERE in the seven and-a-half minutes does it OR she claim to be "so perfect."
