A complete review of the new multi limpet controllers, their various functions, and how worthwhile they are compered to the dedicated controllers, both for practical gameplay and for integration into ship builds.
Great analytics CMDR. The biggest value to these new MLC is more charitable NPCs Distress Rescues will be made....up to now I suspect they've all been stranded for millenia in space.:-)
This is actually one of my favorite things to do in game. I get 2500 credits per rescue, a possible small influence increase, and almost guaranteed a song written about me, when they get back to port! So basically no reward but the little dopamine boost. I can spend hours saving poor NPC souls from a slow, frigid, death.
Great to hear your thoughts on these, think I’ll be waiting for a while before using/trying them out… maybe when I return to inhabited space …👽 Thanks, and all the best for 2022 👍
Well said man! I use a 3a Prospect Limpet controller and a 3C 3C Multi-Mining Limpet Controller in mining (set only to Collectors) and works perfectly for me, having 4 Collectors gathering ore. Maybe you should try it in your Python.
I DO hate the 140 ton weight. Hopefully that changes. But I only play a few hours a week. So not having to go piddle around with outfitting or changing ships really works for me. My Anaconda is set up as multi-purpose as possible.
Do you know what would be nice about these limpets, if they came with their own ammo clip so they don't take up inventory space, that would have me sold immediately.
question: what if i use a mining controller as a replacement for just the collectors? as the multi controller allows for more, albeit lowergrade limpets.
It should work fine. You'll get a bunch of C grade collection limpets. I favor D rated since the 0.5 km range keeps them from wondering off too far. So long as you are ok with the compromises it's a good way to get an extra limpet.
A good initial idea, not well thought out. I really wonder who (anyone?) does play testing for FDev. They squander an excellent resource in all of the experienced, intelligent, & insightful content creators such as yourself.
Yeah, they need a lot done to them before I will use them. Too heavy, wrong combinations of limpets, wrong size modules and not engineerable. If the goal was to make them poorly, FDev have succeeded.
