A note: this kinda makes me lean away from Salvation being a Guardian AI. As for your theory about the Guardian v Thargoid significance, I think you're right. The guardian tech uses that blue energy glow that we see from the objects on the pillars. You even need one of those to activate them to get the guardian blueprint as well. It's likely intended to be a power source for a weapon but needs to be directed and controlled to be usable against the Thargoids.

Both update wise and Lore wise.

Interesting stuff! Salvation is definitely a mysterious character.

@@skywarren4470 One problem an AI that wiped out a sentient race would not have sympathy for another. Especially one as violent as humans.

I would say that Salvation could be one of three things: An ancient Guardian AI that has tapped into human communications networks, or the last living Guardian, or a member of the Dark Wheel. In any case, it's clear that Salvation has access to more information than a normal human could, either by being something from the past, or being related to the Dark Wheel people who were sent back in time. The Dark Wheel's purpose seems to be trying to unravel a mystery, and in the first timeline before they were sent back, these locations were possibly never discovered.

Thought it was a bit cheesy myself haha. I think that at least it would be plausible to suggest that a certain portion of the Guardian race has survived via implementation into the Monolith network. They mention in the Ram Tah logs that towards the end of the Apparent extinction, that those who embraced the new technology, had the ability to project their consciousness into robotic technology.

@@MATTIUS Agreed. But that begs the question regarding where the AI went. It seems most logical that it would leave the galaxy and either destroy itself or somehow get destroyed. Or maybe the Thargoids destroyed it.

@@williamread5652 Well it could start asking itself existential questions and have a crisis, prompting it to destroy itself. But then again it could also be unphased by inherent meaninglessness of existence and be destroyed by something else at some point. It has been millions of years after all. It is pretty unlikely that an entire society's worth of AIs all have existential crises all at once. The idea that they were destroyed by an external factor is a lot more plausible. Probably the Thargoids or something.

@@williamread5652 While I agree it seems kind of decent, I still think it's a shame. Most if not all of the story/lore comes from beacons outside of the ship/settlement so there's no real need to enter them, but it still feels weird to only ever experience parts of this amazing lore from the outside. I honestly thought Odyssey would give us the chance to see laboratories and lore locations from the inside.

It was a massive effort by folks. A ton of it came from non Canonn members this time as well which leans away from the standard accusations of data mining as well. Though certainly some of it was mined up without doubt as it always is. The very first commander to find the Hesperus didn't report it to anyone at all and found it via data mining.

@@MinistryOfMagic_DoM kind of cheating, no? Not my ideal progression method….brute forcing is ok, as it can involve large swathes of the ED community, which is always good. But a decent all round brain teaser is always the best!

Lock on to a system called Lam01 Orionis first. Then navigate to the location from there. Its a bit tricky guiding your craft using autopilot from the bubble.

An AI created by the club, that has escaped and gone rogue? I mean given the club's entire MO... It's dead on theme.

@@Solnoric I've been wondering if it had a connection to The Club as well. They absolutely canonically exist in the game so there is no question there. It seems like it could be them wanting to get their hands on the tech. On the flip side, could it be The Dark Wheel reaching out? They've recently been on the move via Turning the Wheel and when we first started doing that the CMs got a smirk on their face during the live stream then all this kicked off. Could be connected, though highly unlikely, to the expansion of TDW all over the bubble they are now ready to take a fight to The Club once again. Might need to call up the OG Children of Raxxla as well. It won't be related to the faction in game as that is our player faction, but in lore they also exist as NPCs and an off shoot of TDW.

Plausible. There are other augmented humans in the lore as well.

I've been of the opinion that salvation is tied to the club, either as a rogue former member or in some other way... But "salvation" as the code name for an AI that the club created? Oh that is entirely too on theme.

@@Solnoric I posted a comment on this channel detailing how Salvation could be affiliated with The Club. Although I don't personally believe this is the case, I am open to the idea.
