hi how ore you guys sorry for the sock on the floor lolol and also not getting the drift on camera but like I said I have another serious to controller coming in the mail with supposedly the same stick drift if so I'll do another video where I catch the drift and the fix all the same time I was in the controller decided to take the faceplate off based on another video that I saw I was going to link it in the description but I didn't find it if I do find it I will update this but yeah hopefully this will help a lot of people from what I'm looking at between the comparison between the two controllers the Xbox one controller the Xbox series 2 controller they have the same thumbstick setup so if you do have a drift and a regular controller you might be able to do the same thing and fix it thank you guys tell me what you think of the comments and I know my fish tanks have a little bit of algae build up but I left my lights on for a day or two while I was out and it was a mistake thanks guys

Way to go man, my Elite Series 2's left stick was unusable due to vertical drift, otherwise it was working perfectly, 5 mins later and its all fixed and all because of you, I'd given up on it after seeing some really complicated youtube fixes, here's a subscription to you channel and a thumbs up as a way of thanks

I made the mistake of turning down the warranty on my used series 2. Mine has very tiny drift but in fortnite and naraka blade point it causes my character to move unwanted.

Are you fucking kidding. I destroyed 2 controllers trying to fix this shit with other methods. And I didnt this to my roomates drifting controller while borrowing it and it works. Well you just made me 20 bucks guess I'll buy a used controller with it.

WARNING: i tried this and it worked at first, but silly me kept trying it because the stick drift wasn’t completely gone. i think my continued fidgeting actually worsened my stick drift. so if anyone wants to try this, don’t mess with the sensors more than once or twice because it could possibly make things worse. hope this helps someone because my stick drift is so bad now lol

I've got to hand it to you for this one..thanks alot. I was about to get a new controller. Only had this Elite 2 for 8 months and it wants to get randomly stuck in the forward position. No other position. I examined it very closely and didn't see any kind of sticking or drifting superficial. But played with the green chips a little and now magically my sticks are like brand new. Thumbs up on this one.

Yes, it works...to a point. 1. Stoopid easy to open these contrary to what everyone says. Work at the top two corners by the bumpers, then work down each side and pop goes the cover off with a slight pull 2. You CAN snap them off without removing the caps but if it dont work then you gotta pull em 3. Remove them by turning w a towel, easy and steady. They aint that damned tight yall. 4. Pop the hreen caps off, push the disk towards the stick with a pick or toothpick and then spray contact cleaner in towards the copper disk. Wait 10 seconds and spray again. 5 Blow it out and its fucking FIXED 6. TELL MS TO PISS OFF!!! you rock dude

ok, so....after a lot more unclipping that latch thing and reclipping it and a bit more fiddling around. it seems to have fixed it. thank you for this video man, it has in the end really helped me! much appreciated!

FYI, my controller works great now - thank you. However, you don't actually need to remove/break the thumbstick seal - you can fit a small flat head/knife into the sides of the thumbstick to pop open the sensors - worked for me! Thanks again.

Just done this, unclipping the censors 100% helped! 3 heavy breath blows while left opened into the vents helped too!

Wow, yeah it worked for me I literally just did it. I will say that if you’re left stick drifts up and down you have to pop open both plates, for me the bottom plate was harder to get back in but it definitely works, I don’t know how but it does. Thank you sir, you just saved me $200

Yep mine is less than 6 months old it's actually my third one I'm switching after this this one is drifting just like the rest they all have problems very quickly what the hell is wrong with them I have old regular Xbox controllers and they last for years

Any tips or tricks to get that f****** joystick out. I have nearly broke my goddamn fingers trying to get this thing off. I even used a plier with a rag trying to get that off and it still wasn't f****** moving. So pissed I spent all this money on this piece of s*** controller.

Worked for mine, cheers mate. Had horrible up/down drift on my left stick too. For some reason popping off and on just the module on the right side didn't fix it completely, but after popping BOTH of them off and on, then it worked. Not sure how long this fix will work, but it saved my controller from being a paperweight for now.

I had mine for a year and 2 months, and on Thursday it just randomly started to drift. I’ll see what the warranty is but it’s most likely over with now

@@nikfixeswhatever8237 I dont think they require a receipt. I signed into microsofts website, added the controller on my list of products using the serial number on the back and then put in a service request and they sent me a label to send it to them.

I'm on my second replacement and they are refusing to replace my controller now. First one lasted 4 months before it started acting up, I replaced it the day they extended the warranty to a year. This controller is 7 months old but has been drifting for the last month. The second one they won't replace if it is after 3 months.

For the thumb sticks just keep twisting and if you have an elite controller use the longest stick that's what I did it took me a while but keep trying

Kynz Frost You’ll need a T8 Security Torx bit to unscrew the screws. It’s like an ordinary Torx bit but it’s hollow in the very centre of the bit.

I had more of a laggy stick. I used alcohol to clean around the joystick. it helped but didn't fix it. I did this and now its gone. Nice one bro!

@@eliaslebest4576 i did not remove my joystick. I just pulled it to the side and used tweezers to pop open the module. Then cleaned around the joystick using a Q-tip with alcohol.

100% works but I did figure out that you don’t have to remove the half circle cover if you just move it to the side you can fit a screwdriver in there and pop that sensor off!! Thanks for fix

I just bought one and out the box the left stick feels like it's getting caught and then jumps when I rotate it clockwise. Around the 10-11 o'clock postion , I'm trying to find a fix.

Did nothing but make the drift worse on mine. Only opened and closed the sensors twice. But mine has been drifting for almost 8 months and its probably at the point of no return. (Death in a dumpster fire)

I'm wondering if anyone has ever taken a brand new apart, like straight out of the box? Here's why I ask and all the videos Ive watched NEVER seen this mentioned. First my back story my Xbox elite controller is about 8 months old, been dealing with stick drift for about a month and adjusting my dead zone little by little and today I decided to open it up. Watched many of these videos and what I found if you take a very small flat head, push your stick to one side or other and you'll see the grey ball like back bottom now use that flat head as a scraper but very lightly on that and then rub it to your finger you'll notice there's definitely some type of lubricant within the stick housing... ANY THOUGHTS??

You are a fucking god-send dude. If Microsoft just put a link to this video on their website, they would never get calls about stick drift again! I did this in 10 minutes with my old permit ID (to pry the edges of the front), my knife (to lift the front off), and a pair of pliers (to move the sensor). Anyone can do this with pretty much no tools! Thanks again man!
