You could just see it in his eyes he was proud to be there. From being homeless to being the main event of the 2 biggest MMA companies at the time. Kimbo was really a redemption story. RIP LEGEND

Kimbo, tank Abbott, Don the predator frye. Are three men that I would expect to be get in a fight in a bar and emerged victorious even though it's several on one. Tank Abbott once said when I'm done with the fight win lose or draw I go home and drink a beer my opponent goes to the hospital. When kimbo was young he dropped bombs, the first few fights in tank average career he didn't even break a sweat man he connect with one punch and it was enough to rock them or drop them. All day, that's what makes KIMBO a Legend, went in MMA as an older adult did not start amateur MMA like many in Teens.....and yet he Blew up....almost like a Tyson.....just a gut rom the street trying to make it and he did !!!
He lost, fair and square. At that point, he was barely protecting his head, and got punched 3-4 times in a row. That “look” on his face was the very last bit of his consciousness before being knocked out.

Dude was still fighting tho you gotta give them the opportunity to come back very few opportunities to compete in the ufc but I do believe in keeping fighter safe
@@expertexpertens8396 Not from a swelling like that. Injuries on the outside of the ear don't really affect hearing (Which is why Evander Holyfield can still hear fine).
Those elbows and hammer fists from Thompson when he had Kimbo on the ground weren't doing anything. He was so gassed he had no power. That's why Kimbo was laying there giving a thumbs up. He was tired and stuck. But not getting hurt
(Respectfully to Kimbo) It still should of been stopped. The thumbs up was only for a few seconds Kimbo was in the pinned up position for over a minute any other fight would of been stopped
How did they allow thompson to fight with a blown up ear like that is beyond me.... That cauliflower ear doesn't even look hardened which means it was a recent injury....
Ehh, not that bad of an injury to fight with, obviously if it’s even touched it hurts like hell but it’s not something that poses a whole lot of danger to someone’s career
Fighters fight with cauliflower ears all the time. They've never not allowed someone to fight because of a cauliflower ear. It's a normal injury especially in training.
@@TonyTee79 : Yes but not with a fresh cauliflower ear dangling by the side of the guy's head. Fighting with a recent injury like that only insures that the fight gets stopped early because just about anything would have made that ear explode and bleed out...

@thesquad2253 no..for the fight..cauliflower ear refills after awhile when drained but in his case its a huge target and ultimately lost the fight for him
R.I.P Kimbo Slice 🙏 he didn’t have much in the way of mixed martial arts skill but he was a solid fighter nonetheless (Petruzelli fight aside but that’s neither here nor there)
Kimbo is one of my favorite fighting stories. Check out his Fight Lore, it’s absolutely FANTASTIC. Learning combat sports is the greatest thing a man can do for himself. It doesn’t matter where you’re from, it doesn’t matter what you look like it’s all about what’s in your head and what’s in your chest.
When the announcer was introducing Kimbo you could tell he was reminiscing on all the things he been through and it looked like he wanted to tear up when the announcer finally said his name. R.I.P. to a Legend🙏🏾🙏🏾💪🏾
He was paid to help Kimbo win. Standing up Thompson whenever Thompson got the advantage and then the early stoppage too. All of Kimbo's fights were fixed to some extent
In 4 years this will be 20 years ago. Were did the time go! I remember being so excited for him being able to fight ufc and get some real money. When he passed I couldn’t believe it. Rip legend
Those punches might not be doing a whole lot but those elbows certainly are. It's not fair to stand him up when he's dropping elbows almost constantly that's called staying busy. Some people's fighting style is ground-and-pound that's what he's doing
@@destroya3303elite XC not the UFC, kimbo wasn't a big draw in the UFC, because honestly he wasn't that good. This entire fight was damn near fixed watch at the very beginning Thompson is deliberately missing when he's throwing punches from the top in round 1. Hell Seth Petruzelli knocked out kimbo in his fight with kimbo and they offered him an extra like 25k or something like that not to wrestle with kimbo, to keep the fight standing, because kimbo has no ground game what so ever
10:46 That was not a scissor sweep. lol. A scissor sweep is when you literally scissor your legs for a push and pull, one on the opponent's legs and the other on their hip.
I've met Kimbo in real life and it surprised me how cool he was really humble and took the time to greet me. Also he looked way bigger in real life than on tv like a giant brick wall.
Love the Kimbo life story, we did not get enough of Kimbo.....way to young to pass.....not experienced MMA training like many, but he defended the groud fight well, you have to give it to KIMBO from Street to straight Pay Day.....👍👍👍👍 RIP Brother, you were Great a Legend with no doubt .
Dam so long a go . This was kimbos greatest won imo . Thompson is no world class fighter but very strong and MMA experienced . Q solid challenge for any person right off the streets
Heh. This fight showed us a 34 year old Kimbo's potential as a mixed martial artist. But still he would not tap that full potential until he joined the ultimate fighter in 2009.
This was Kimbo at his very best, and THIS is how I'll remember this incredible warrior! Props to Thompson as well, he ate so many shots and never quit! Amazing fight!! 💪
