Just the elixir I needed at the end of a long day.... Lanier and Elizabeth! I’m very intrigued to try this! I still adore Passion and my mother loved White Diamonds. Oh Liz.... you made the world a better place! As do you Lanier!
Michelle Lea Michelle I’m thrilled with your lovely comment. You made me very happy that I put in the extra editing and work to bring the essence of this fragrance and of Elizabeth to you. Yes she was a gift to us in so many wonderful ways. Cheers Michelle
I am a fragrance amateur (and make perfumes myself, was happy enough to get a diploma in Grasse) and follow many reviewers on RU-vid. Well, less and less! I must say that I am getting increasingly tired of the generalization and vulgarisation of "top whatever number of summer" perfumes, sexy men, fresh office etc, perfumes in a cheap clickbait battle that rages, not to speak of some very shallow personalities cults around here. But Lanier, you are an exception, a big one. You review perfumes that you just got, mostly one, and you put effort in well produces videos which bring culture, art, cinema... And your reviews are genuine. Seriously my list of reviewer subscriptions on RU-vid is diminishing by the week. I will stick with high vibe and class. Thanks for your videos!
Manfred Krepsky Z. As I just mentioned on Twitter thank you very much Manfred for such an amazing complement. I’m so very flattered and humbled. Thank you
@@laniersmith1798 sorry for my little "ranting" but my opinion is honest and your channel is an oasis in the middle of this "fragrance community" jungle. Cheers!
The Images alone are worth the watching ... never get tired of looking at them ...thanks be they still appear in my recommendations ..... thanks for keeping the legendary Taylor alive !!
Fragrantica's list of notes is incomplete. Per Home Shopping Channel: Top: raspberry, pink pepper, mandarin, davana Heart: rose, orange blossom, jasmine, apricot Base: vanilla, vetiver, patchouli, amber Per Google: Davana is a fervid (burnt) orange flower native to India, yielding a rich, peach-like scent. The davana herb smells like a mix of sweet citrus fruit & warm green herbs with hints of vanilla & wood. So if your nose is picking up something peachy or woody or herbal, you're smelling the davana in En Rouge. Please review WD Night! I enjoy this scent; it dries down to a smoky, slightly nutty, resinous musk, apricot-y sweet but definitely unisex. WDN is, however, extremely light & airy as consistency is very thin, just a gossamer-like veil of scent.
You've peeked my interest in smelling this fragrance, Mr. Lanier. I'm a big fan of Elizabeth Taylor's VIOLET EYES and would love to smell this one. Stellar video, like always!!!!
Noticed u from Fragrantica a long time ago. I will never forget your review of Bijan Black what a beautiful review and the way u described fragrances with sentiment!
Lanier i just found your channel after looking for reviews for this fragrance. Im in awe at how unique and beautiful your channel is. Its so refreshing and well done. I am so appreciative of this. Thank you! From a new subscriber
Omandita4 oh my goodness what a lovely thing to write. Thank you so much. Yet I’m sure with a comment such as yours you are more gracious and charming than l. Cheers 🥂
Oh my! That bottle does look beautiful. We don't have this in Europe yet. I can't wait! I own quite a few of Elizabeth Taylor's fragrances. She was so beautiful. Can you do a review of White Diamonds in Love? This is my favourite. The Orange Blossom in it is beautiful and it lasts and goes through so many changes. I found White Diamonds Nights a little too synthetic however, but I like the idea behind it. Thank you once again Lanier for this wonderful video. Such a treat! Have a great day, Ailish😊
Thank you Ailish. You are the second person to mention White Diamonds In Love...so I have to try it. Let me know what you think of this one once it hits Europe. Cheers!
I just bought this perfume for my mum. She loves the original White Diamonds that came out in 1991. I also bought the White Diamonds Black Night perfume too.
Hello Lovely Lanier, I love this beauty, I stumbled upon it on a trip to (would you believe it, kinda spooky 😄) Burton-Upon-Trent, UK near where I live, sprayed it once and was blown away by how gorgeous it is. I normally give perfume a chance to develop on my skin but I knew right away that this was 'me', that has only happened once before with Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle! It normally retails for £45 but was on offer for £19.99 at Boots so I got it and a week later brought 2 back up bottles! I NEVER do that! It is magic and everyone who smells it on me loves it, I have since tried and purchased other Elizabeth Taylor fragrances and am in love with them, I have White Diamonds and Diamonds & Rubies and am interested in getting Love & White Diamonds and Passion, I have always loved her as an actress, thank you for a wonderful review of what is now my new signature scent ❤️💕❤️ p.s. Richard Burton scared me in '1984' 😱 You rock! 🤘🏻❤️❤️❤️
Diamonds en Rouge finally became available in Norway too,, YAY !! We now have 5 fragrances from Elizabeth Taylor .. even with import, they are still affordable at $45 ish for 100 ml
Did you try the Love and White Diamonds, White Diamonds Lustre and the White Diamonds Night? Love and White is straight up orange blossom. I love Night and Lustre!
Thank you The Scents of Me... always a pleasure to have you here. Yes do try it, I have a vintage bottle so I am not sure how the present version is...maybe I should check it out too! Cheers my friend.
I love white diamonds . I bathe with the body wash, apply the lotion, and when all is said and done I douse myself in the perfume. It’s as if god himself created this fragrance as his gift to mankind and I dare say that any man who encounters a woman wearing this fragrance find them simply irresistible. So sad it has been discontinued.
Im not sure if i shared my connection w/Elizabeth.....is there an address where i can share some more private interactions?..I am not on facebook or any social media.
thank you Lanier...i have to run right now but Id like to share some things w/u ..and I was a friend of Chen Sam..her long loved publicist of many yrs. Many drinks w/her...lol
Hi Mitch! The Theme from one of Elizabeth's films, The VIP's 1963 written my Miklós Rózsa (his most famous score was for Ben-Hur 1958) This version is performed by the pianist, Mark Northam. I hope you enjoyed it. Cheers.
@@laniersmith1798 thanks, it's a great piece. Love the piano, grew up with one in the house. Interesting to see an eastern European name as the composer. It's built in to that culture, Chopin was from Poland.
Rich Mitch Many Hollywood composers were from all over Europe. DIMITRI TIOMKIN said this when he won the Oscar: “Lady and gentlemen, because I working in this town for twenty-five years, I like to make some kind of appreciation to very important factor what make me successful to lots of my colleagues in this town. I’d like to thank Johannes Brahms, Johann Strauss, Richard Strauss, Beethoven, Mozart, George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Wagner, Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov. Thank you.”
It is the Main Title theme from the film The VIP's (1963) by Miklós Rózsa. The film starred Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, with Maggie Smith, Orson Wells, Rod Taylor, Louis Jordan and the wonderful Margaret Rutherford (she won the Oscar for her performance in this film.) The song is performed here by Mark Northam. In the film it is played by a full orchestra ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FJ7X8DPjjmg.html Cheers!
