I sent her a painting I made of Micheal Jackson. She sent me a picture of her and her little dog and a thank you from her secretary. Beautiful lady inside and out.
I was on the set in Rome when she was filming Cleopatra. She made the filming stop so that the crew could give water to all of the extras. It was very hot and the extras were heavy in costume, so the water was taken to them one by one. I will never forget that! RIP Elizabeth Taylor.
A taxi cab driver who works in Stuttgart told me that he picked her up once. She was with another woman. Taylor realized that he recognized her. She started up and carried on a conversation with him. He asked her about her films and she told him all about it. He said that she was more than just cordial. Very warm and friendly. She gave him the best tip he ever had.
As Richard Burton himself stated "she is a dwarf with big boobs". She has no waist!! She looked so beautiful in her teens. That's it. Thank goodness she started her career early. And she slept with EVERYONE. Liz Trailer is how she was known.
Amazing interview!I love Elizabeth Taylor. She was so ahead of her time. She was an activist for AIDS during a period where it was taboo to speak out about, and she also was honest about her struggles with addiction and alcoholism when no one talked about that stuff back then Also how she’s so humble. Thinking her worst movies were ones that won Oscars. And never bragging about her acting talent and success like many people do today
Because I thought she was the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen, I named my first daughter after her (Paige Elizabeth). My daughter passed away at age 30, three days after giving birth to a healthy baby boy. My daughter was absolutely gorgeous and resembled Liz Taylor’s beauty very much.
She was portrayed as being more of a snob. She wasn’t. Reporters always said how she spent her money on jewels. She did have an extensive collection . Who cares. She worked to support the causes she believed in. Helping people. She was beautiful, talented, and unselfish. She was a child star and grew into a great actress. I miss her. Thank you Miss Elizabeth for leaving us with your fantastic movies. She was Hollywood Royalty. I miss her.
I was told by my friends and mother-law I looked like Elizabeth Taylor. In fact my dance partner called me Liz I was in my 20, had long black hair. My name was Betty Lyle's and some people thought I was white, but African American and proud of it. I live in Anchorage Alaska 85 years young. My name in Betty Ward. I admired Elizabeth Taylor
Me too, until Geraldo appeared on this show in the late 70s. When I first saw him on that program, I was a teenager, but thought he was repulsive. He looked like a fish out of water and I kept thinking, where did this guy come from, the barrio?
Yes, she was beautiful and she was an outstanding actress but as to how compassionate she was, well, I have my doubts. How many husbands did she marry? Eight, I believe. That tells me that she was very good at taking love from others but not giving it back in return. When they failed to give her what she wanted, she left them for someone else, and then on to the next one to see how much she could take from the next fellow. A lot of taking, but not a lot of giving, that was her style when it came to people.
@@carolgreen5448 Elizabeth was in her twenties!! Eddie Fisher, gorgeous in his day and probably at that time the most famous singer in the world, was a hard rebound after after Mike Todd was brutally torn from her life. Incidentally Eddie Fisher and Mike Todd were best friends. Debbie and Eddie's son Todd, was named after Mike. You're over simplistic and judgmental POV tells me, either you have never loved truly or have never lived fully. Debbie and Elizabeth made up when they were both married to other people. They remained friends until Elizabeth Taylor's death. Even then, Elizabeth remembered Debbie generously in her will. Something well documented by Eddie and his daughter Carrie was Eddie Fisher's debilitating drug addiction to amphetamine. It was not uncommon in the '60s to get shots from a Dr Feelgood, to pick you up and be a temporary remedy for whatever your problems may be. JFK received shots as did Herbert Hoover, Truman Capote, Tennessee Williams plus the laundry list of Who's WHO in that era. To my knowledge and that of anyone I knew who was acquainted with either of these women, neither approved or partook of this practice. To paraphrase Mark Twain: first get your facts straight then feel free to distort them however you wish. XoXo ❤️ www.foxnews.com/entertainment/debbie-reynolds-elizabeth-taylor-eddie-fisher-todd-fisher
Elizabeth embraced the gay men in her life with no judgement and became best friends with them. It started from national velvet with Rodey McDowel to Mongomery Clift to Rock Hudson, James Dean and I am sure other closeted actors we don't know were gay. She has done so much for AIDS research. Incredible woman. I am 49 and might be the last generation to truly remember this wonderful woman.
Elizabeth and Richard were the Love of her along with Mike Todd. She loved with all her life. Her children she had..I feel she had more Love in that Beautiful body, than anyone ever had..May she always be remember for her Love.❤ Love n Hugs for Elizabeth..
She was considered the most beautiful woman in the world. That is true since without makeup she is still stunning when she was young. Also, if you can imagine as a child she was absolutely beautiful too. Some people become more beautiful as they get older some don't but they change appearance.
she was such a legend despite her ups and downs during her career, when the world was afraid of AIDS, Elizabeth Taylor took the problem on the front of the world to say, stop the fear and discrimination! now we have to work to fight HIV. She was a pioneer who led the way and for this thank you so much miss Elizabeth Taylor...... 💜
She shifted to aids fundraising and a successful perfume line she was proud of....and she was never happier you can tell. Her perfumes are amazing and wonderful. Her Aids fundraising raised the bar on being a decent human being. Her grandchildren have carried on her legacy on both the Aids foundation and Perfume empire fronts.
She is potentially the most compassionate and empathetic screen actor we've had. She just didn't want to lay blame on anybody ever. Unbelievable levels of empathy.
Debbie Reynolds was watching her friend, Elizabeth Taylor's small children in her time of grief, while Elizabeth was sleeping with Debbie's husband and actually stole him away and married him! Some of the biggest narcissist /sociopaths make the best sales persons and the greatest charity givers. Not bcus they are empathetic or compassionate but it's all a part of building their carefully crafted image, until the mask slips. It's not what you do in public but who are you in private when no one is looking? What she did was awful and speaks volumes about her compassion!
@@monty9619 People are throwing the words narcissist and sociopath around way too much these days. It's trend talk. Giving in to lust and being unable to stay faithful does not necessarily mean that you are either of those things. Elizabeth gave love and understanding to minority groups at a time when it was dangerous to as it could potentially bring a career in the public eye to an end. I like to focus on the good things that people do/have done. I don't like to undermine said achievements by pointing out the other side of the coin. We could do that to almost every person on earth, and then what do we have left? Debbie Reynolds made peace with it, I'm sure you can.
Even Joan Rivers, who mocked her during her heavy years, admitted that she was the star of stars. She said, “Taylor knows how to put on those furs and jewels, and have the world pay attention to her.” And she was a great actress too, as she proved in “Virginia Woolf.”
Joan Rivers was a favorite of mine. She said Elizabeth just had her ears pierced; gravy came out. She also said that when Queen Elizabeth's water broke, it was Perrier. Harmless fun.
Ronald Reagan did nothing for 8 years/2 terms. I knew men sick in the latter 1970s. And they were dead by 1982. Then I knew 100's who died in the 80's decade. Reagan did nothing. H.W Bush didn't do much at all. Larry Kramer, founder of ActUp, fought the government to do what was needed to combat HIV/AIDS. Thank You, Elizabeth Taylor!! 💚
I love the way Barbara Walters interviewed with so much class, knowledge, diplomacy, she will always remain in my heart!!!! Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentine
Not just a Dame but the true Lady! After all the bad things that happened to her, after all the losses and after all health issues, not to mention the fame that in many ways breaks you from within, she stayed the kindest and most loving and caring person! And till the very end she was childishly curious and elegantly flirtatious🙌🏼
There was something about her that still makes her one of the most memorable women. Her beauty has never been surpassed & her kindness & caring a legacy.
Violet eyes. So deep & full of life. Never casting blame for the hurt, but embracing every experience as a gift to learn from & be grateful for. A truly beautiful woman, in every sense. Rest In Peace & thank you for sharing your honest memories & lessons on how to be graceful. 🙏❤️
I absolutely loved and adored her. My personal favorite role she played: Martha in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf." She revealed later in her life that that was also her favorite role.
I met Elizabeth Taylor at her first Macys promotion for her Passion campaign in the interest of HIV AIDS. She is TRUELY the most BEAUTYFULL WOMAN IN THE UNIVERSE!! She is slightly petite in stature but her incomparable BEAUTY MAKES HER MOST BEAUTYFULL TO GRACE HOLLYWOODS GOLDEN AGE OF FILM. I adore her! She was the gracious woman that left me frozen at meeting her but she is totally a down to earth creature GOD gave us.🤧🙏🏼💘
I waitressed at a fundraiser in Lansing Michigan for John Warrener . I felt so special when the table I was serving, told me I looked just like Elizabeth. I had been told that before but as she was there it made it even nicer as she was my All time idol . 🤭🥰 I loved her as a kid in National Velvet. As I was in love with horses too. And at the age of 12 , I was blessed to get my first horse. And now that I'm 73, I have a horse again. Her name is Gypsy and she is my love and Bucket List. 😂 PS: I was married 5 times....🤭😂😂😂😂😂
Elizabeth Taylor is like a beautiful love goddess yet so mysterious. Folks this lady worked very hard throughout her life's career and had so many highs and lows which could've crushed many souls but she endured because she learned what life was all about and she rolled gracefully with the punches life threw at her. What a lady. May GOD have her in HIS kingdom as she entertains angels. RIP Elizabeth Taylor.
As I get older I appreciate having these interviews to watch. What a life she lived. So much to learn. I’m glad I was able to see her on big screen as a kid. The Flinstones. Omg. I hope there’s a heaven and she’s in it.
Elizabeth Taylor was no snob she was very kind and sweet she would help anyone because she was rich being rich wasn’t important to her she was rich because she was a movie star ⭐️ and a great one
She's so sweet and charming. She's even a little childlike. That's what makes it so hard to link her to her negative traits. I don't know how Debbie Reynolds forgave her. But she seems like a lovely lady. ❤️
She was life long friends with Michael Jackson. They connected because of their horrible childhoods. She knew that MJ was innocent and the victim of money vultures.
@@Angela-gc3kr Her childhood was lonely but her Mom seemed ok, not the typical abusive mother like Judy Garland for example. I think the only child super star that broke free was Shirley Temple.
@@yvonneplant9434 Carrie said that she thanked Elizabeth for getting Eddie out of their home. That was a tough one to judge. Eddie was married to Debbie but Elizabeth was her friend. Both were horrible to Debbie.
@@AquaNikki Depends how far "back then." Stars like Mary Tyler Moore, Doris Day, and Amanda Blake in the 1970s advocated against animal cruelty, including wearing fur. That said, I don't care if 1% of the world does something, or 99%. I don't need polls to tell me what's right or wrong.
She was so beautiful 🤩 and a great movie star she was bless born beautiful 🤩 I can’t believe she is gone she was very strong 💪 through she would have made it Rest In Peace Elizabeth Taylor
I wear one the perfumes from Elizabeth's perfume line, for many yrs now. It's one of my favs. And I've had many compliments on it😊 She was an awesome actress. I saw some of her movies. I think one of my favs. Was Cleopatra😊 she was an awesome lady with her humanitarian causes too. RIP ELIZABETH
@@tigressofforli3398 I like the flower scents in perfumes. It blends into my body chemistry better than musky ones I get mine at a chain drugstore called Shoppers Drugmart. I'm in Canada since I last looked for White Diamonds, the only place I could find it was Shoppers. I use to be able to get it at Walmart but they didn't have it the last time I bought

@@anairenemartinez165 Michael championed children. The opposite of what they portrayed him to be. Elizabeth knew him better than you. And she was not the type to stay silent about any injustice
When she was a child the producer told her father ''She has the part, but don't put mascara on her we do that here at the studio' Her father replied '' she's not wearing mascara''.
Her dad also said, I believe, to MGM "You're not cutting my child's hair" wrt National Velvet. So apparently a wig was created by studio hair stylist, Sydney Guillaroff, and that's what was cut in the movie. They also wanted to remove the mole on her cheek. Her parents said, "No!"
@@christineperez7562 her parents made sure Elizabeth never lost her dignity. Liz was not seen running around like the Kardashians. Or like drugged out like Demi Lovato. Liz had her fun and sad moments. But was never self destructive. She always came out the other side a survivor.
A outstandingly beautiful actress, no doubt about that. A kind person as you hear from many sides. She was no surely intellectual, but who would have expected that from her? Great films. Still fun to watch.
Most of the personal situations she was responsible for. I think she was an amazing person and actor, she did things her way and paid the price for mistakes. We all do.
Liz is just a woman in love, who loves love, whats wrong with that? Shes a classy gorgeous lady, and has a lot of style. She left Debbie Reynolds 4 jewel suites!!! One of them emeralds. A miraclous life!!
Extreemly vulnerable...that's y men cud sense her vulnerability n take advantage of her....it's her fear of loneliness which made her irresponsibly choose men to live with...the mistakes of her life...
Such a remarkably beautiful woman inside and out. If I could ask her anything…I would want to know which husband was her funniest. Not the husband did she had the most ‘fun with’ exactly…but which husband could really made her laugh the most.
Having your husband and father of your children die in a plane named after you sounds beyond devastating. I wonder if she and Mike would've stayed married for life if he hadn't died.
Hard to say, there was a big age difference. Suppose Mike Todd didn't die in a plane crash, and they stayed married. Would she have left Todd when she met Richard Burton, when acting for the movie, Cleopatra?
A very beautiful honest intelligent interviewee. Elizabeth Taylor was ahead in many ways. Very pure unpolluted. May her beautiful soul rest in peace. And may parents learn to guard their beautiful girls with bright future from early marriages.
@@judithryle2113 por supuesto Marilyn era hermosa, bella, y tenia un cuerpaso !!! Eliza era bonita de cara y muy boca sucia especialmente cuando estaba “ tomada” ( drunk)
I've always liked Barbara Walter's as a reporter/interviewer. She had subtle, flowing not too aggressive approach with people she interviewed. Kind of like inviting conversation😊
Not always - Walters could be very rude and unpleasant - and viewers would call her out when she behaved in such a fashion - that said,. I had never seen this interview, I thought Liz was very honest and sincere (no mention of the Debbie Reynolds scandal, interestingly) and so endearing - I am reminded of how much she's missed.
