GORGEOUS MAKEUP. And she's absolutely right about looking up to someone with similar colouring as you. That's why growing up I absolutely loved Melanie B from the Spice Girls!
Sali doesn't say she thinks she looks like Liz Taylor. She says that she thinks Liz is beautiful and everyone aspires to beauty which they can in some way aspire to e.g., skin colouring and hair colouring is similar to your own.
I really appreciate the depth you go into with your tutorials and the attention to detail, Charlotte. An absolute joy to watch and learn from. Thank you!
She looks absolutely stunning. I love how you do basic things such as scrub the lips and pluck the eyebrows as well, so you really get to see the whole transformation.
She looks beautiful, classic, and ladylike. Fantastic job. I agree with the comment about your attention to detail. I LOVE the list at the end of the video.
I'm sorry but she doesn't pronounce Aucoin properly. I watched an interview with him and he himself says that it's pronounced [okuan] because it's french. It bothered me so much when I heard her say it... XD
Actually, the "n" is silent, or more truly "swallowed", using only the back of the tongue to give the merest hint of an n. At least in Louisiana, where he was from, it's pronounced O-qua (the qua as if you were saying quack without the ck at the end). My Cajun-French last name of Melancon is pronounced Mel-ah-saw. At least I know a telemarketer right away :) A couple of my favorites are Soileau (Swallow) and Hollier (O-yay).
I happen to be interested in makeup (just for personal use) but it wouldn't really matter what you were talking about: you're such a pleasure to listen to. I'm not even sure why: melodious diction, tone of voice and this confident, knowledgeable, measured passion.
I feel guilty when I watch your tutorials, I feel like I should be paying to watch someone like you at work!! and yet, I am watching them for free!! This is such a privilege.
I'm sure it's faithful to the original Liz Taylor look, and Sali would look great in any make up, but I agree with Mary Greenwell's philosophy (she says it in one of the vids she did for Lisa Eldridge) that for a modern look, one facial feature should be 'knocked back' and natural looking. In this look, EVERY feature is full on, so the overall effect is very heavy. It looked better with no lipstick.
Charlotte are you going to bring back magic lip balm and scrub? I bought it at John Lewis Chelmsford on opening night in late 2016. Please bring it back ...🎀
Argh I would do anything to have just a wee bit of your talent! You are an absolute pleasure to watch Charlotte, you're beautiful, classy and so professional. I'm such a fan, if you couldn't already tell haha!! xxx
Great video! It's was almost spooky how much she looked like Elizabeth Taylor at the end! Please do more videos inspired by old Hollywood stars or past generations like a mod/Twiggy look, a Bianca Jagger/Cher look, a Sophia Loren look, etc.
I love how you sometime use models that look like real women! (if you know what I mean-not Barbie-doll perfect). Sali is still gorgeous but I find her more relatable! -xx
This is the loveliest tutorial I have seen to date. You do such a brilliant job and Sali looks outstanding. I watched Liz in film "Cat on a hot Tin Roof" just 3 hours ago. And this is her look. I have to add that I am held in by the classic looks that you create. Every other joe on You Tube seems fascinated with the "Kardashians"or bizarre new look which is useless. Thank you, thank you!
Love the video, and all of your videos! But would love it if you gave some of the history of the look too i.e. What Elizabeth Taylor would have done. X
