IRL I have seen a white tail that had been shot in the face and its jaw was gone. And it had one of its front legs caught up in its antlers. So weird how they can just walk around like that and not look like its in pain.
The key is I wasn’t managing them at all. Also on my mule deer video you said that you won’t find that low of genetics in private land. And in the 3 herds I Kill my 5 stars out of I manage every time I go hunt elk
The reason I'd disagree, if you have 50 to 60% in that habitat, and u take 60 to 70% out, u are increasing chances of sub 50% spawning into your private area. And young and early adults are hard to visually judge in many cases, but those do count to gene pool, and lower ones increase odds of lower ones
If you are only managing a couple herds, u are not changing the gene pool of the habitat much. So u will get the same fitness average for respawns. So as long as he won't make 5s, he is another chance at next being one, doesn't matter his fitness. To me herd management is changing the gene pool average
Dude then why have I killed 6 5 stars just in the last 3 weeks hunting elk like 3 times including this vide in those same 3 herds? then I go to that herd I haven’t even seen in soooo long like I couldn’t even tell you how long ago and that herd was complete garbage why is that?
