Milk dud tips for 11mm/10mm 1. Soak two or three EM tips in milk overnight 2. The good EM tips will sink. Those still floating can throw it away. 3. Press the tips using tips clam - 2.5mm hard feel - 3.0mm medium - 3.5mm soft (this with experience on how many turns required to reach that compression) 4. Keep it under the sun 32 to 40'c for 3 days. Alternatively, burn the clam head using candle light for 45 minutes and leave it till room temperature. 5. Take out and measure the milk dud tip height and leave it for 1 day to measure again. If there tips expand, meaning you didn't wait long enough for tips to dry up and you required to repeat step 1 because any tips expension resulted air being trap inside the tip that will create inconsistency. Hope this help
Hi, Nathan. I'm in the process of making milk duds myself, and I'm trying to decide how hard to make them initially. Were you happy with the hardness of this milk dud, or did you wind up wishing you had made it harder or softer? Also, are you still using this tip? Thanks.
Hello, thanks for commenting. I’m pretty happy with the way mine turned out, I don’t play too regularly, but, I have put some miles into the tip, and I still have this same tip on my cue, I used my cuetec bowtie for light maintenance and it still plays well and is still holding its shape. Totally worth the effort, I won’t be buying anymore expensive overpriced tips anymore, I’m pretty satisfied with these results.
But does it perform any better? I thought the whole point of tips being a little soft was to prevent easy miscueing. They grip the ball a fraction, not to give any more spin but to stop the tip sliding off too easily when playing extreme spin.
If you watched the video, I’ve already explained the purpose of soaking these tips. I’ve noticed a difference, I’m currently playing with both a regular elk master and a modified elk master (milk dud) and I absolutely love the milk dud over the non soaked EM. I’m not saying it’s better, to each their own, but I’ve noticed an improvement for my playing style.
@@nathandallaschad7990 Have you played previously with layered tips at all? How does it compare to those? Does the medium tip compression amount result in mushrooming easy on the milk duds?
That is a good question, I still have the same tip on my cue to this day, but, I also have not been playing much because of Covid, I last played with my cue at the beginning of the fall in 2021, it was still holding up well, and I installed mine in July 2020.
@@tommykukulka7811 oh….. Leaving it pressed for 24 hours wasn’t enough, I pressed it down again overnight and then left it out for awhile as well, I’d give it 2-4 days
Billiard Snooker Cue Tip Suppressor, that’s the name on Wish for this specific tool, try looking up Cue Tip Press Tool, it’s what I did, if you’re ordering one, there’s two different sizes one for snooker, one for Pool (Billiard)
